Britain won't be the only country where it can be purchased without a prescription - I've bought it over the counter in Italy and Eygpt.

Until somebody dies from it, then it'll script only.  Just look at ecstasy, only a handful of deaths a year but is class A, where's as alcohol is in the thousands

And Turkey and Mexico

It's a good idea to see your GP before starting to take Viagra (prescription or over the counter) in case EDF is a sign of something more sinister. They will also tell you about how to take it and the side effects. I plucked up the courage to do this and he gave me a thorough check up (including blood tests). Fortunately I was OK and I have been enjoying the benefits of Viagra since.

The trouble with drugs is that if you start using them regularly when you don`t need them then you can eventually build up a `body tolerence` to them.  We have all been told of the problems caused by overprescribing of antibiotics, and indeed the same thing happens with most other drugs - take enough of them and they no longer work anything like they should.

I can foresee a generation of who`ve been happily scoffing the little blue pills since their 30s, and suddenly find in their 50s or 60s that they don`t have any effect any more and that all those anticipated happy years of punting in their retirement just ain`t going to happen after all.

Do you know for a fact that the body can build a tolerance to Viagra, or are you just assuming becasue some other drugs do?

Official announcement from MHRA. Interesting though it is specifically Viagra Connect, so that brand, rather than generic Sildenafil means more expensive over the counter than online Sildenafil.

Of course I don`t `know for a fact` - I doubt if anyone does since Viagra hasn`t been around long enough for anyone to be able to demonstrate it, but since the rule applies to virtually every other drug, from antidepressants to painkillers, from sleeping pills to digestive medicines, and even to such nasties as cannabis and heroin, I would consider it a pretty safe bet.

it will be the age of the user that renders viagra less effective rather than resistance building up, a more likely scenario is a more powerful and more effective treatment will evolve.

I know some guys that take an asprin a day to keep the blood thin, theres no tolerance build up for asprin, also the pills for low insulin, you can be on them for years and they work the same without increasing the dose

I've only ever read that the dependancy is a mental thing, not chemical

If you think you’re developing tolerance just switch to a different drug, Cialis or Levitra or something.
