A lot of new members are under the misapprehension that anything goes on here, it doesn't. There are rules that need to be adhered to and things that are just not tolerated.

I believe they are trying to be defined as a "Race", this is despite the majority of them themselves being deeply racist against black and Asian people, I did see something on TV about it a couple of years back and they were trying to get the term "Pikey" made into a racist comment

Bloody hell, 11,000 new members since the site was opened up again....that sounds phenomenal. So taking that figure into account the number of bannings and duff reviews is probably at a relatively tolerable/modest level.
It also makes me think what wonga could have been raised by a modest requested donation of say £10 to be made at the time of joining.

Looking at the stats it's saying there are about 43K members but 11k have joined in about a month which is clearly a very high rate seeing as the site has been going for over 10 years.
On that basis i'd say that an awful lot of lurkers joined as soon as the doors opened so they could read the threads which had been locked to non members.

Know someone that was a social worker for many years and dealt with the travelling community. They have a very old fashioned approach. So domestic abuse and rape is rife but it’s just accepted by many traveller women, the husband comes home drunk and wants a fight or a shag then the wife just accepts she’s getting whatever is coming to her.

The woman is at the mercy of her husband, she can’t leave and if she reports it there’s a very real possibility she’ll be ostracised by the other travellers.

It’s a shite way to live but it’s the traveller way. I remember watching a documentary on them and the council built brand new houses for them, many refused to live in them and lived in their caravans in the driveway for years.
