I really don't get this.
The site is meant to allow information of interest and benefit to punters to be freely shared and available to members.
Why then is there a PM system available? And I ask this because it seems massively at odds with the idea of sharing information.

Please tell me what I'm missing.

They are trying to allow private conversations but hope that to the extent they relate to things like the service that WGs provide that is done on the forum and not by PM.

They are seeking a balance and compromise and personally I wish them well and would not start making their life harder with constant questioning.

+1

Last month, the majority of PMs I had were long-term lurkers wanting to leech yet more information. When queried about their lack of contributions, most of them were inexplicably rendered mute
That is not what a PM facility should be about

Offline Boristheboy

Before the mods wade in and start kicking me, I just want to say: I completely get that information on WGs is better if shared openly, and I see the sense of encouraging people to make threads rather than PM.
But...
Let's say JohnnyMember and I have an interest in girls with only one eye, and he punts in the same geographical area that I do. Let's say I wanted to ask him if he still had a link to Jenny Cyclops's profile, because I have lost it.
Now there's no reason to keep that private, it would be perfectly fine to post in a public thread. But if I send it by PM, JohnnyMember will immediately see the message waiting for him when he logs on. Whereas if I pop it in a thread, what if JohnnyMember logs in, browses through a few threads, then leaves without having spotted the question I have left?
The main concern I have is that people won't necessarily spot something that few others may be able to assist with.

What are you on about  :unknown: We are not discussing if PM,s can be used or not, they can ! The debate is about the reasons/instances when they should be used. Please read up on the thread content before diving in. :hi:

Why has this issue arisen in the first place?

I think this is a good move. I’ve definitely had leeches ask me about specific girls without contributing anything to the public forum. I just ignored them but at least it puts a stop to them.

If you don't understand why sharing information about escorts who give good service privately instead on the open forum where everyone can benefit is against the whole ethos of the site, then I don't know if I can explain it any further. No matter what I say you wouldn't understand anyway.

I didn't say it was a reason in and of itself to have a PM facility. I was trying to highlight the fact that public sharing of information can be less effective than private sharing of information, on a forum which is all about sharing information for mutual benefit. My point still stands. I am not going to argue whether PMs should be kept or not, that's for the mods to decide, I just wanted to raise awareness that in some respects, doing so is a bit of an own goal.

I have no idea if any compromise can be arrived at. Maybe if members' profiles showed a total of the PMs they sent it would act as some sort of flag or cause people to use the feature sparingly.

I'm thinking it would say something like Posts: 35 Reviews: 2 PMs: 2365 and we'd all think Fucking Hell, this ain't right. What formal action could follow is debatable and beyond my pay grade but I feel it would at least shine a light on any busy folks jangling away in the shadows.

If something can be said on the forum, and the part to do with the escort, all of this should be done on a open forum

So for instance, a member on here trying to arrange a sex party, and already had three escorts lined up.  First thing in his post, was anyone who is interested, please PM him, for details

The three escorts names could have been posted on the board, and may very well have been done later on

What I think PM here should be used for, is the finer details of the party, like location and contact details with other members

FWIW I think the current system works perfectly and doesn’t need any tinkering whatsoever. Despite what a few without access might say.

I disagree, unless of course the SP has it already advertised on her profile

I have explained why on numerous threads.
But here goes again:
Seen many a “party” fall through because SP names are posted.
Lurkers, leeches, guests, fanboys, timewasters contact the WG direct. SP get bogged down dealing with party requests, hagglers, and miss out on genuine solo bookings that week. They blame the OP / organiser and tell them not to bother.
Also they see a drop off in bookings after the “party”

Such threads should be just to identify like minded punters up for a party / MMF in the next few weeks.
Simply a show of hands.
If you want to Party then PM.
If parties aren’t your thing then why do you need to know the SP?

You see my last review? That was the last time I punted. I have reviewed every punt I have had since joining the forum. Have you? I am not a hugely prolific punter, mostly for financial reasons, so if you want me to review more, I will need to punt more. Feel free to send me a couple of thousand quid and you will get more reviews.
By the way, your ratio of posts to reviews is about 117:1 whilst mine is around 20:1. Perhaps you should be reviewing more?

You've not understood it either then it's quite simple.
There's only one person who's simple and that is you, the more you post the more you come across as a boundary pushing troll and the thinner the ice you are on gets.

Any one with the half a brain, or the slightest bit of common sense would understand that once an issue becomes apparent, in this case info being shared by PM, then action will follow and the action is only taken because it has become apparent that there is an issue.

In other words that you might just understand, we discovered there was an issue regarding PMs so we took action to rectify the situation, but we only took the action because we discovered there was an issue. The fact there was an issue is the reason action was taken.

we all want to help each other with the good service providers and the bad ones, so surely making reviews or even posting them on a forum would benefit all instead of hiding them behind pm, seems very selfish to me be anyway
