It’s actually a piece of cake now with an iPhone. SP sends her postcode to my old punting Nokia.
I tap that into the apple maps app on the iPhone . Click on the drive or transport option button. The first gives real time options based on road traffic. The second lists tube overground rail and bus combos also in real time! Simples 
I don’t agree. I use iPhone for all this things but my comment is still based on my experience.
1. A postcode can cover a huge area.
2. Most visitors to London will not be driving.
3. Apart from a few main areas, a visitor can’t be expected to know their way about a strange suburb.
4. Very few prossies will give a close indication of their address when phoning up to make a booking, enough to figure out public transport + walking or horrendous taxi/Uber fares which mount up very quickly.
5. It’s very easy even with iPhone direction maps, to take a wrong subway exit or not be able to find the right bus stop quickly.
6. I’m not just concerned about being late for a booking (or wasting extra time by overestimating and getting there early) but it can be a huge chunk out of my time, or if getting an outcall wondering if she will turn up. On top of which it is often far more expensive than up north, with horrendous travel times and costs. Now the LMP has vanished I’m more likely to think just wait till I get home.
London might be good if you live there; but from my point of view hardly worth thinking of punting unless you’re just into the overpriced walkups. I’d like to be persuaded otherwise as there’s probably good punting to be had, but I simply find it too much of a drain time-wise and financially. That goes for London generally, so I mostly just visit for business, which further means that my time is valuable and the idea of popping out after lunch for a quick shag at a reasonable price (eg £70 for half an hour) with reasonable service and still have the afternoon free for shopping or enjoying the city, that idea just doesn’t seem doable.
