How much money do you think you have spent in your punting career

I've spent far too much recently. (£2000+ since July2014) It's been eating into the savings, I'm disappointed with myself as I'm usually fairly astute with money/VFM, and living well within my means.

I'm only in my late twenties early thirties, but I justifly it with the fact that there's no point being the richest man in the cemetry.

But probably half that one one offs and half on regulars.

I prefer regulars but do the one offs to stop me getting too attached to any of my regulars.

Dread to think if I carry on like this for another 10 years...it can be very addictive, like gambling.

i make sure punts come out of the part of  my earnings which i always spend on myself,so if i punt a lot i spend less on boozy nights out or on buying stuff.

if you start eating into savings or using money that should be for household bills then you have a problem

Same for me, I could happily spend more without it being a problem so I still have "me money" to spare.

Only been punting since last autumn, and try to keep it to once a fortnight, but I do like  longer punts, so currently runningat an annual rate of £6k PA, which is OK.
As has been said, you can easily spend that on any hobby/ habit , of which i don't  have , so I am still pleased with finding punting, keeps a smile on my face, which must make er indoors  wonder.

It does take effort to keep to the budget, self imposed limit I have set, as one discovers more WG's that I would like to take a punt at!

Anyway folks who don't have a hobby, tend to be boring bastards , and who wants to be one of those!

Difficult to keep track as I've been punting on and off for about 30 years, I reckon thousands and thousands spent on prossies. Enough to make me feel depressed.

It's even worse if I add all the money I spent on civvies as I used to be a prolific philanderer and had numerous lovers plus swingers... jesus if I had saved all that money instead I would probably be very well off now.
