The problem with fact based articles like this is the Fairy Tale believers won't stand for that. And they like to make some noise.

what a load of rubbish.  I am sorry but escorting being legalised would not stop rape and sex attacks.   Men don't commit rape or sex attacks because they cant get sex they do it for control and power.  being able to degrade and abuse someone due to something wrong with them mentally.  It has nothing to do with sex work not being legal.

Of course you cant stop rape or sex attacks but the headline and article doesnt say that at all, they say it could help reduce them, which is true in my opinion. Theres a percentage of rape and sex attacks that occur because the attacker believes the victim will not go to the police if theres illegality involved, and bringing it out into the open without the taboos and stigma could mean SOME attackers arnt so brazen in going after prostitutes believing they wouldn't go to the authorities. This could and should lead to a REDUCTION in attacks, although you cant get rid of all the nutters out there.

I cant see it happening anytime soon, the present scenario of the police deciding in their own area whether to allow brothels to operate is likely to be how things continue for the foreseeable future in my view. Of course punting is legal unless the WG was proved to be underage, coerced or your a kerb crawler.

Yes this would no doubt be the result of legalisation though not necessarily decriminalisation in my view. Under the former it would be all rules and regs, health and safety as you say and costs would rocket up, as well as only covered services so OW not OWO officially on offer, which is the case in New Zealand so I read.

Another change would be WGs would have to be registered, that is NOT going to suit many who at present can come and then go without the need to do that.
