CCTV has all but eliminated 'the street trade' today. During the late 1990's to around 2007 I spent a lot of my Friday and Saturday evenings driving around this area. As a man who often liked the security of his own company to spend an evening doing this was no problem and to be able to pick from a selection of young women and pay a relatively small amount of money for a sexual experience made this an attractive 'hobby' for me. I seem to recall £40 for full strip and OWO was the going rate but looking at what some of the ladies charge today for Blow and Go in the comfort of their own apartment/home it probably wasn't that great a deal.
There would be a huge difference in 'class' if one drove around the Mapperley Road and Woodborough Road compared to Forest Road and the further towards Hyson Green/Radford you traveled the quality of the ladies available could decline dramatically. I'd normally stick to Mapperley Road and you could often be pleasantly surprised. I guess the one of the thrills was that you never knew what girl would be around and as in life each would prove to be very different from each other. The Mapperley Road are would often have girls from the nearby St Anns estate and they would typically be like any girl next door type, which I liked.
I'd say drug money was probably by far the biggest incentive for the ladies but there would often be exceptions. I remember picking up two girls who just wanted money so that they could go in to the city for a night-out(or so they said) and would be dressed accordingly. Very attractive late-teen to early twenties girl, £40 full strip and OWO. Seemed like a good deal to me at the time.
The police would patrol but never really an issue dodging them. Now and again they would have a high profile campaign but I never had any problems. Maybe I got lucky I don't know.
The college off Mansfield Road would often provide good spots to park up and many of the large old Victorian houses in that area were used as commercial premises so available at night to park up and do the business. Very few or no CCTV cameras in those days so being spotted wasn't really an issue. That said one I remember being in full flow and looking up to see a infra-red led from a video camera shining towards the car. Who ever it was thankfully scarpered.
I was young, in my early twenties and the dangers of what I was doing failed to materialise in my mind. I was aware of possible danger but my lust for young females at that time completely clouded my judgment. What was I thinking and it is only now that I can comprehend the risk and dangers I was exposing myself to by participating in this activity. How many times did the girls have pre-planned 'park-up' places arranged with 'security' lurking in the shadows.
On one occasion in broad daylight I was nearly the victim of a mugging scam. Lured by a girl more attractive than the norm girl(always suspicious) to a secluded spot off Mansfield Road. Parked up, money handed over the girl suddenly announces that she needs to pee. I then notice a very aggressive male approaching. Thankfully the young lady took pity and averted the aggressor. Even this experience did not deter me from my 'hobby'. What was I thinking.
With all its downsides of security and scams I would say those days were overall good for me. I met some lovely girls and some great sexual experiences that I may never of done in a normal relationship. One girl in particular became a regular of mine for eight years and I often think of the great dirty sex we had which I have never bettered.
In conclusion I would of probably of been better-off trying to form a stable relationship and developing a social life. However life is not perfect and you are who you are
and I enjoyed the hobby of the 'hunt' for young females and paying for their sexual services. In return it suited most of them too.
Now we have the internet and mobile communication is easily available I'd never cruise the streets. Sites like AW are fantastic.
