Check out the app ‘hushed’ as an alternative. Been using it for years, works really well

Hauwei phones have both a dual sim and a separate folder called private space which is only known to the owner and on examination of the phone doesn’t exist. So you don’t have to worry about the OH only the Chinese Govt who might be able to supply a list of Asian WGs.

Thread resurrection.

Am getting a dual sim phone very soon. I never store numbers in my current punting phone, and erase back to factory settings after use each outing.

So, so long as I only turn on the secondary sim when actually needed, don’t store any punting numbers, and don’t engage in any social media on secondary profile - I should be OK?

Or have I forgotten anything? Thanks.

Personally I have 2 phones. an old iphone after an upgrade as a punting phone. I leave it in my car’s arm rest compartment and trained myself only to use that to arrange meets. Knowing my main phone is 100% clean is refreshing

Trying to remember to only activate SIM2 for punting (and ensure SIM1 is indeed "deactivated") is only part of the discipline required.  It used to be that most phones still kept you logged in to the same user ID for Android (don't know about Apple) so unless you knew what to erase and disable your punting activity could get mixed in with your RL stuff, including crossovers of contact numbers or social media connections, "Dear husband, who is this dominatrix that has just started following you on IG?".  Some brands have since created walled garden features that may be attributed to different SIMs but be very sure that the phone you use guarantees the segregation of your SIM/ID activity in such a way.

Or you could just get a second handset making management much easier.

I use an app called Text me. Works on credits. Texts are 1 credit per message and calls are 2 per minute. The way u get credits are by the app nUmber receiving a text…so once set up it gives you a selection of numbers to choose from. Pick one and skip the next few pages where it tries to make you set up a monthly amount for certain number of credits.

Nowadays everyone (I’m assuming) has a normal contract phone with x amount of free texts and calls etc.  all you do is send a text from your normal phone to that number - lots of them and for every text the app number receives you get 1 credit (the texts you send from your number to the app one are part of the bundle so they’re free to send). You can send around 50 a day. I normally just do one letter and send, like A then send and repeat. Do it for a few days and then as and when required.
After 4 weeks the number disappears so you get another one but your credit remains. Best app I’ve come across. Just remember to turn notifications off if you have an OH. Any texts you send from the app stay in the app text section however any calls you make will show up in your call log as TextMeAudio so you’ll have to delete them manually. Hope this helps

Thanks everyone. It’s a balance I guess.

A few years ago I used to swap my usual sim with my punting one in my iPhone, and didn’t get any data leakage ie no unusual profiles suggested on FB, but I get the danger.

But I also don’t like having an additional phone on me when out.

Will give it more thought.

Sorry - last question(s) on this.

Has anyone here used a dual sim with social media on their normal profile, and had data bleed from the punting profile ie escorts suggersted as people you might know on social media on normal profile?

Or, has anyone here been regularly using a dual sim with social media on their normal profile + been using a second profile for punting, and never had any issues?

I never had any issues when I used to regularly swap punting and normal sims in my iphone a few years ago but know that tech’s moved on relentlessly and our individual privacy is continually at risk.

My current two phone set up is fine apart from I don’t like having two phones, and the unexpected can always happen. See Breaking Bad Season 2 E4.

Thanks everyone.

I have a dual sim iphone which has whatsapp for personal use and whatsapp business for ‘other’ business. I don’t use facebook or twitter but there has been no leakage between the two accounts in any way.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

Have just removed Facebook and stopped Instagram from suggesting as someone you might know.

Having a dual sim, whilst manageable, has a greater risk of making a mistake.

It would be too easy to accidentally call an SP from the non punting sim.  Or call the OH from the punting sim.

Punting phone with punting sim is the way to go for me.

It’s really not that difficult. I save the contacts in a separate group which isn’t visible as I deselect it. Also set the contact so that the default is to always use the secondary line so if I was to call it wouldn’t use my main number. Same with texting. Whatsapp is a completely separate app which is buried in a folder so not much danger of mixing them up.

On the whole though I’d agree a separate phone is better but only if having one isn’t likely to cause suspicion in itself
