Author Topic: Most sex workers have had jobs in health, education or charities – survey  (Read 1471 times)

Online southcoastpunter

you have to take all these things with a pinch of salt......from the article :  one Escort said "Eight out of 10 of the men I see don’t actually want to have sex with me, some just want affection and someone to talk to".

Really? she can't be very attractive then!

I really hope so as most of those jobs like health and education are places that have high chance of getting the CV. If this is true then it shows that most WG's who are working during this lockdown care more about the money than the safety of the public or the punters (who are likely old and at risk of caught the CV).

Of course, I dunno about you but I only post up 20% of my reviews. The other 80% are just me spending the time talking with the WGs about which Unis they got their degrees from, why they took up brain surgery, which subjects they taught at A Level during their teaching career, and their years working abroad for Oxfam on clean-water projects designed to eradicate cholera.

If only you guys didn't just see them as sex objects you might learn something   :unknown:

Maybe us punters are really the sex workers then if 80% are paying £100+ p/hour to get fucked over by a WG  :D

It’s quite worrying I’m agreeing with you again  :unknown: :unknown:
I don’t thing the Guardian reporters live in the real world..

Offline scutty brown

Its a five year old report

The sampling method was biased and the sample small:
"The study of 240 sex workers – including 196 women, 28 men and 12 transgender people – focused on those who were not trafficked or coerced into selling sex but had chosen to do so, and most worked from within premises rather than on the streets."

No foreigners

As far as I can remember the survey was online - so  only reached the computer literate (let alone the literate)

All in all, discredited rubbish

Translated

Large proportion of women in one job once had a job elsewhere.

Not only this but this other job was in an area that employs more than most other areas.

And in an area that have the highest proportion of female workers.

You could probably say the same for proportion of women who haven't returned to work after having having a kid.

Sadly because anyone can get into "Uni" these days.
I dread to think what will happen when these cohorts ascend to positions of seniority in the places that matter like vaccine research...  I may not be dead by then...

Offline Redpunter

Having had my share of health issues going by this bit of so called Journalism a big percentage of healthcare workers that I have been treated by are actually sex workers in disguise, I don't think so.
I could use the same argument to say that a big percentage of the beauty industry are sex workers again its nowhere near the truth.

Without wishing to reveal too much, I've taught in a number of Unis (one for 10 years plus), from former polys to red bricks, and ever since the introduction of higher fees, students have acted like consumers. Now, having not paid for my own degree, I do have some sympathy for young people getting themselves in shit loads of debt, but dear christ the sense of "consumer entitlement" that goes on. It's like me paying shit loads for gym membership, not turning up for exercise and then complaining that it's someone else's fault I've put on weight...

Me too - that has been happening to me for years.  I am going to get the bastard responsible for all this weight........

Online southcoastpunter

and then complaining that it's someone else's fault I've put on weight...

That is a reflection of society as a whole these days. Because 5 or maybe 10% of the population can't control their Alcohol drinking, the 90% has to pay more than necessary for our drink. because 5% of the population can't control their  gambling spending on credit cards, the 95% are not able to use credit cards at all! etc etc. And everything is always someone else's fault. Personal responsibility is an old fashioned concept it seems!

Anecdote, I know, but of all the 20 odd escorts I've seen over the last year or so, only three were part time. Funnily enough they are all British. Two of them work in data analysis and the third in the Care sector.

Others who revealed a previous career included an au pair and an office gofer.

I think the Guardian is talking bollox (again). A large proportion of their readers are in the State sector as teachers, health professionals, Social Worker types. I reckon this kind of article is clickbait for those readers.

The Guardian was (five years ago) merely reporting the results of a study as did other media at the time. The Guardian did not carry out the study itself nor was it involved in any way. The actual study has been linked to here in another post.

How can you confirm that? Did they show you evidence? If so what? There may be a minority that work in these sectors but the majority are liars. It's just a conversational tactic. If you believe it, then you might as well believe in flying Hippos.  :hi:

Would not surprised me if that is true. From experience I have bedded a couple of Nurses in my Uni days and trust me they are filthy under the sheets. That and I know a couple of reviewed UKP WG's who their main job is Nursing.

Back in days of yore there was, and still is, the nurses home at Addenbrookes hospital cambridge the 15 story block.

Male visitors were not permitted to stay overnight! As a bit of a jolley some drunken barstard would hit the fire alarm!

Resut?, quite a lot of scantily clad blokes looking very embarrsed, didnt bring a dressing gown with them did they;?.

Had a fine old time at the old Addrenbrookes home in Trumnpington street:)

To be honest, given the appalling rates of pay in the sectors listed above (plus junior barristers on minimum wage, etc.) given the rise of sites like Seeking Arrangement and given the general attitude of a deal of the younger generation who want something for nothing, but have been sold the dream of consumerism, it wouldn't surprise me if sex work is going to be on the increase.

Just because a woman let you fuck once you give her money does not make her compassionate human beings just for doing that nor doing the same thing to multiple of guys. A WG can be a good lay (depending if the WG is a good service provider) but being compassionate really depends on WG you see. And trust me they are many WG's who would not help you if your in a bad spot but they are a certain number of punters with EAS who would pay a WG's rent if she tells him she is in a hard spot. At best a WG will be willing to give her favorite client a PS5.
