I can't honestly say that it was because I didn't ask for it - I was working on a budget
. Certainly I was told that it was 'hand only', but there were other options including 'touching'. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
(As I said there is a cash machine on the other side of the road bit it wasn't working. I think the nearest ones that don't charge you for the privilege are on Euston station - or KX/St P if coming from that direction).
