So what you're saying is that because I haven't posted a link, to satisfy another forum member's curiosity, therefore I look "iffy"?
My OP was an enquiry on general principle. The identity of the particular WG is fairly irrelevant. A search of the forum had already revealed she has been discussed on here, but no mention of ever asking for a picture before.
When my communications with this girl have run their course, whatever the outcome, then it had been my intention to identify her if she wasn't on the level, to warn other punters. Having people demand to know who she is might make me reconsider.
I'm happy to talk philosophy at another time mate, but as a newcomer you will be advised to read the rules of this forum, it's ethos and purpose, as would be polite on joining any forum, before taking the high horse or saying how people 'ought' to behave. You're welcome to lurk indefinitely (unless you are seen to be busting a gut against us secretly), but there's a certain language and etiquette here of sharing to join in. You will be afforded every leeway I expect, but I'd advise you not to take the piss. It's a bit condescending to say you'd warn us if something we ought to know. Either you're a brother in arms, and we are your mates and you share a review as a way of putting something back, or you are likely to be seen as a bit of a wanker or a prossie's pet. (No, this is not to say you are that, but with hundreds of wankers just wanting to 'chat' a week, it's a good idea to have a policy of putting a review where your mouth is at some point, not just 'gracing' the forum with a word or to if it acts nicely and you feel it is duly a good idea to 'warn' us!)
I'm just an ordinary member, same as everyone else, and trying to say, you're very very welcome if you want to be here, and very very not if you don't. The guy who owns the board puts in a vast amount of time and uses his own money, and every decision is up to him. Try not to cone a cropper before you've started! It's not done sort of government or advertising -supported public service
If you want to join in, on that sort of basis, you'll find people will cut you a lot of slack. If you are a determined non-reviewer, they won't. Good luck!
