Has 52 Greek Street, the walkdown, closed? I walked past last night at around 7:30 and the shop above it has gone. It was all locked up. It's possible that the walkdown will still be operating, but it feels like slowly, very slowly, the walkups are going. I can't remember when a new one opened up.
I understand your point about walk-ups slowly going, but it would not really make any difference if 20 walk-ups suddenly opened tomorrow. It goes much deeper than the walk-ups closing.
Back in 2016 I was having along conversation with the blue eyed platinum blood cockney maid from 34 Romilly Street, she said the problem was that the Romanian girls had taken all the money out of the business by flooding the market and lowering the prices. I didn't really understand what she meant at the time because Soho was still relatively healthy.
3 years later I had a similar conversation with Dee MILF at 8 Greek Street, she said the Romanians were providing a shit service and lacked the warmth of WG's from Britain and other countries.
Now in 2022 virtually all the WG's in Soho are Romanian providing a poor to diabolical service starting at £30 upwards. Also reading other threads I get the impression that generally the poor Romanian service is common throughout London.
Yes there have been good Romanians in Soho like Roxy and the super legendary Crazy Anna, but they are very far and few between.
What I am basically waffling about is that the average punter in London appears to be able to afford to punt from up to £120/£140 per hour with £80 for 30 minutes being preferred to see if there is any chemistry or in case of a tight budget and or wanting to punt a couple of times a week. IMHO that price range is now almost exclusively the domain of Roms.
The unfortunate knock on effect is that any WG from and not exclusively Russia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Poland, Greece etc etc is now seen as "gold dust" and working via Diva commanding £200 upwards. A good example of this is Soho Nicola aka the gym bunny, the latest review on her says she's charging £250 per hour.
Similar pretty looking WG's back in the 90's and 2000's were numerous in Soho/Shepherds Market, unfortunately the abundance of WG's from that circle has ended in Soho if not in London generally for the < £120/£140 price range, and worst still there is no way of predicting when the Romanian circle will finish.
A final point to bear in mind at least in Soho/Shepherds Market of yesteryear, there were a healthy number of WG's who were stone cold nymphs like Nadia, so the question is this, how many Roms appear to enjoy being fucked?
