I just has an interesting conversion on Twitter about providing an Escort with ID. Unfortunately I got trolled by some halfwit who, as so often happens on Twitter, decided that it was easier to attack me than to hold an intellectual discussion.

Before that, I was making the argument that asking for ID was not a very effective way of checking if a client was safe because many clients prefer to remain anonymous and anyone who was a real risk could easily obtain fake ID. I conceded that safety was paramount, but questioned the effectiveness of ID in this case. Anyone with teenage kids will know how easy it is for them to get fake ID, I caught my daughter with a full driving licence before she had even turn 17. Very convincing it was too, she used it to buy drinks and claimed all her friends did it! So what does ID really tell you about a person anyway.

The problem I have with it is that to be effective, I would have to provide a full name and address and supporting material for it to mean anything useful. What happens if the WG takes down those details and they get in to the wrong hands? Or in five years time, she decides she wants to out all her old clients and publishes my name and address - Or worse, tries on a bit of blackmail? - While I am not ashamed of my hobby, I don't want the whole world to know I pay for sex! I always thought using a pseudonym was pretty much rule one of punting?

Before the troll turned on me, they claimed that asking for ID was standard practice - Is it?

I have seen 51 Escorts and have never been asked for ID once. I am interested to know what others think about this. If it is standard practice, why have I never been asked? I find it hard to believe that I have just been lucky (if that is the right term).

I don't think I would refuse to provide it, but I would certainly questions its benefits. Since when do criminals (and those who abuse WG's are criminals) ever abide by the rules? If they were planning on mugging, committing rape or otherwise harming a WG, they are hardly going to present her with real ID first and, as I have already pointed out, fake ID is two a penny these days!

Is it industry practice to ask for ID?

How many of you guys have experienced it and how many of you girls actively ask for it.

I am genuinely interested. it is a pity I got trolled on Twitter, but I guess that is no surprise these days.

Mate, you're totally right. To be honest there's no need for this thread.

It is definitely not standard practice. I've seen many hundreds of WGs and I've never been asked. Except perhaps if you look very young, there is no valid reason to need to show ID. Even in those cases, it should be sufficient to reveal your picture and DOB only (the rest covered by fingers or something else) - the WG does not need to know anymore.

If I was ever asked for ID I would certainly refuse.

Anyway, get some reviews up of those 51 escorts you've seen.

Actually, I have been asked once, it was to prove my birthday in order to get her birthday offer/discount. However, I did refuse and she just took my word for it, rightly so because I'd seen her before (which was a qualifying criteria anyway) and as long as I don't take advantage for another year there's surely no issue. It wasn't actually my birthday but it was the month of my birthday.

It is not standard practice to provide ID. I have never been asked for ID in 40 years of punting. Nobody in their right effing mind would give ID to a prossie. Don’t give her your bank details, passwords or log in details either. Kin obvious I would have thought.

Punting is an anonymous pastime for some of us, showing a WG ID is a never in this lifetime.

Quite right.  The only reason she wants your I/D is to pass it to Sergei , who is in the next room, when she takes your money. Before you know it Sergei has used your I/D to create false docs and is selling them down the market or the Romanian café. At best your I/d will be used by some under aged to obtain alcohol. At worst  they will use it to obtain credit in your name. Next thing you know is you get a debt collecting agency letter through your letterbox.

I have seen a few websites where escorts ask for ID before making the booking. I don't understand how they are still in the business as I cannot imagine anyone being prepared to possibly compromise themselves in this way. I would never ever reveal my identity in the same way that an escort would never reveal hers. It is unnecssary and none should do it in my opinion. There are other ways to ensure safety whilst remaining discrete and expecting the same in return.

I'll book on A/W if it comes to it but that's the limit. The second any WG tries to introduce ideas such as paying deposits, showing ID, parking in certain spots etc. then they've immediately lost my business forever - I'll see one of the many hundreds of women in the UK who don't ask for that sort of shite, thank you very much.

Why were you having this discussion on Twitter in the first place?

Yes, you are right ——- however there are a few well established women in the Domination scene who now insist on a deposit with new clients, one told me that she had to introduce deposits because of the huge number of no shows.
No deposit, no booking.    :unknown:

In 40 years of punting I have never been asked to provide ID and if asked I wouldn't. I don't want to see her ID she doesn't need to see mine. We both should have a system in place to ensure our safety during the punt. We both have access to websites where we can report problems with a punt to warn others.

Whilst I've never been asked for ID (and they wouldn't get it even if they did), I have noticed a couple of adverts on AW requesting facial photos in advance "so they can see who they are meeting." :scare: Although you could send any image I certainly wouldn't send a 'real' one unless you have yearning for adverse publicity or identity theft

Offline Students Notebook

I''ve never been asked for ID, nor would I give it, however I have twice been asked for face pictures.

 I refused.

It’s simple OP. No ID, no bank details, give a false name, hide your car half a mile away to ensure no number plate details taken, and buy a cheap old fashioned mobile phone as pay as you go and change SIM card every two weeks.

If a hooker insists on a photo send a false one via email from a fake email address of a downloaded picture from a modelling agency. Unlikely you would be turned away as she needs the money.

The parking in a certain spot is classic warning sign of a scammer at play ready to blackmail. Some of these hookers are so deluded and thick asking for such bollocks it beggars belief.

If any of them ask for ID I will show them - the ID in question are the ones with the picture of the queen on them which will be going back into my pocket and not theirs.

This is the third fucking idiot thread asking if it is normal to ask for IDs.  :dash:
