I just has an interesting conversion on Twitter about providing an Escort with ID. Unfortunately I got trolled by some halfwit who, as so often happens on Twitter, decided that it was easier to attack me than to hold an intellectual discussion.
Before that, I was making the argument that asking for ID was not a very effective way of checking if a client was safe because many clients prefer to remain anonymous and anyone who was a real risk could easily obtain fake ID. I conceded that safety was paramount, but questioned the effectiveness of ID in this case. Anyone with teenage kids will know how easy it is for them to get fake ID, I caught my daughter with a full driving licence before she had even turn 17. Very convincing it was too, she used it to buy drinks and claimed all her friends did it! So what does ID really tell you about a person anyway.
The problem I have with it is that to be effective, I would have to provide a full name and address and supporting material for it to mean anything useful. What happens if the WG takes down those details and they get in to the wrong hands? Or in five years time, she decides she wants to out all her old clients and publishes my name and address - Or worse, tries on a bit of blackmail? - While I am not ashamed of my hobby, I don't want the whole world to know I pay for sex! I always thought using a pseudonym was pretty much rule one of punting?
Before the troll turned on me, they claimed that asking for ID was standard practice - Is it?
I have seen 51 Escorts and have never been asked for ID once. I am interested to know what others think about this. If it is standard practice, why have I never been asked? I find it hard to believe that I have just been lucky (if that is the right term).
I don't think I would refuse to provide it, but I would certainly questions its benefits. Since when do criminals (and those who abuse WG's are criminals) ever abide by the rules? If they were planning on mugging, committing rape or otherwise harming a WG, they are hardly going to present her with real ID first and, as I have already pointed out, fake ID is two a penny these days!
Is it industry practice to ask for ID?
How many of you guys have experienced it and how many of you girls actively ask for it.
I am genuinely interested. it is a pity I got trolled on Twitter, but I guess that is no surprise these days.
