That *is* a brilliant suggestion.  UKP should have a "best of" section and I would nominate that for inclusion. 

Some people may not like to ask a clothing request or they may not be into such things.  A simpler thing might be to insist on giving your first name to the person answering the phone then, when you arrive, ask "what is the name of the person you are expecting?" if there appears to be a problem.  If they don't know this detail you can then say something like "yes, you must remember me, I'm the guy you agreed to do bareback anal with for no extra charge."  This will then avoid you having to make any excuses as you will be asked to leave.

I don't think that happens. One of my regulars was working for a group in baker street and got a lot of business at £80 ph. She has gone indie recently with a cheap flat in Hounslow at £100 an hour and is doing so bad she's going back to the old group.

IMHO, Impractical in many instances.
Doing this you will limit your range to indie WGs working from their own home. It will not work for the WGs working in a sharing workplace or for an agent. Asking these things it, she will need to go home to wear the requested accessories.

Certainly indie WGs turn to be more reliable as they depend on repeated business. But the main problem, is the hourly rate and limited choice that you will have. An indie will normally mean that a WG will only work form their own home. This will mean that you will only limit your choice to local WG. You might miss out the opportunity to meet a true germ.

Moreover, some good agents, acute WGs on sharing accommodation also work on repeated business. This is especially true if they plan to be on the business for sometimes.
