Author Topic: Help with message “Your ISP blocked”  (Read 4023 times)

Offline davidsmith

Hi there, I’m a paid member. I recently moved to a new place. However, I keep getting the message no matter what I do. I’m not sure if it’s some kind of mistake.

It’s somehow seems to be connected now to my account, because I went on private browsing to use it, and it said the same thing when I logged in. Is there a way to fix this? Can I send an email to someone with my IP addresses to be taken off the blacklist?

Who is your internet provider, as this might be the problem, as they could block all adult sites.  I have reported this for help, so hopefully a mod will come along and help, solve this problem

Are you trying to use a VPN or is it turned on in your browser?

Offline davidsmith

This happens when I’m not using a VPN.

ISP is NOWTV

Offline davidsmith

Sorry, just to be clear it’s not my ISP blocking ukpunting, it’s the other way around - UKPunting is blocking my ISP

If you are sure VPN isn't turned on in your browser then Head1 will have to sort it. But the message you mention does come when you try to use a VPN as they are blocked.

Offline davidsmith

Yes, 100% VPN is off when it gives me that message. In fact, the only way I could get in was actually using a VPN, which I am now, even though I know it’s not ideal. Could you please ask head1 about this please?

Thank you.

I am a paid member and paid via bitcoin.

Offline davidsmith

And finally, just to clarify, sorry I know we’re not supposed to use VPNs but if I didn’t, I would’ve had no way of contacting you because I wouldn’t be able to login.

Offline davidsmith

In fact, I only got the VPN just so I could login and message you about this!

Offline LLPunting

If you got in with a VPN then I think Head1 may have another headache as the VPN blocker isn't working properly.  Some people may have been granted specific VPN privileges due to personal circumstances in the past, it seems unlikely you've coincidentally accessed from a whitelisted entry point.

Who's your new VPN provider?

Probably not a question for an open forum and I’m not sure what help you’d give him from it?

Are you connecting to the park's wifi? It may well have an adult site restriction. If not and you are connecting via your phone, you may not have adult services allowed. Even if you did previously, I recall my provider would seem to switch the provision off every now and then and you had to ask to get it reset.

Hi, I think it’s HotspotShield or something like that, I haven’t used to VPN before I only bought it so I could get in because it seems like my IP address is blacklisted.

Not sure if there’s a way to fix it because VPN is slowing everything down. Would much rather just use it without a VPN!

Oh, sorry, I forgot about that. I probably shouldn’t have posted that publicly.

Hard wired or wifi makes no difference, it will be the park's provider blocking certain sites, and there doesn't have to be rationality to it either, some hotels will let you on some sites but not others. If adult bar on phone lifted, I'd suggest using it as a hotspot (which for those of a certain age, in this instance IS a good spot) to access the sites you struggle with. Just make sure to switch back before any data heavy usage, such as streaming video.

Most public internet connections won’t allow adult content, I was out the country recently and I couldn’t get on here from the hotels wifi or any porn for that matter
The park internet will block the content I’d be pretty sure.

Offline v54

External Link/Members Only is a good way to find out what your current IP address is, and this will give clues as to which service provider is being used.

I use this when testing to make sure I'm connected to a router, rather than through a potentially chargeable mobile data connection.

Your IP address would usually be tagged to your post in boards such as this, which an administrator would see (but we can't).

Disclosing the name means everyone is aware of what, presumably, will shortly be blocked so no point trying to circumvent Site Rules (much longer).

I wasn't promising any help.

I found with Three and T-Mobile that not all their servers were configured/connected the same way re: their content filtering.  At certain times in the night or when contention was high I might be logged in via some half-arsed back-up server which clearly wasn't picking up my network account settings and blocking all adult content by default.  Reconnect to the network a little later (Airplane mode toggle) and I'd be back in via the primaries and working as normal.

There’s no point advertising what hasn’t been blocked for the very reason you mention, regardless of what action will follow.

Yeah, I've also started to get the “ISP is blocked” message on my home broadband in the last 2 to 3 weeks. I can only login using my phone on 4G. I'm with Community Fibre and not using a VPN.

Will community fibre issue be fixed? Still blocked 3 weeks...

I've found that co-ops  (like  "phone co-op  broadband") and community anythings tend to act like the morality police.  So I doubt OP will ever get adult services from Community Fibre.

Is this feature out of date?  Nowadays, VPNs are much more common practice and even advised for your online privacy.  They are also necessary in some countries and places like hotels.

It’s also fighting a losing battle because the endpoints change, so valid addresses get blocked and invalid addresses are let through.

No it's not out of date
It's there as one line of defence against spammers with multiple profiles. We've had many problems in the past and I'm sure there are still people trying, even if the admin/mod team keep it well hidden

Seems Community fibre has some issues or something. I am facing the same issue too. But sometimes it works, which is very rare, and most of the it doesn't. I have TalkTalk too and it goes through fine.

And I don't use VPN either. But the message says trolls on Community Fibre is the reason why blocking is in.

as contributor member the need for some to use VPN in order to access this site is over the top. for outsiders without logging it not problem at all to have full access daily (at least they can read 10 posts or something)

Honestly I don't see the point to the restrictions if you ask me. in order to logging an comment you need to be a pay member, if this member became a troll Mod can easyly banned him end of story (I doubt this person will pay again)

The site is run the way it is for a reason and you agreed to the terms and conditions when you joined so no point in complaining about it.

Sorry might be stating the obvious if so please accept my apologise.
Have you tried contacting your Internet provider and say you want to have complete access and not restricted access to your Internet. This is usually via your online portal.
I had this issue when moved over to Sky, quick log in and turn the adult content blocking off and all good.

I'm not complaining, I'm just making sure the site admins are aware that free customers have more access to the site than contributors, but from your answer it sounds like you already know that.

What would make you think the site owner and admin don't know the way they have the site set up?  :unknown:

In what way do 'free customers' have more access to the site than members who contribute.   :unknown: There's no restriction on how often a member logs on or how many pages are viewed, there is for non members.

It's been talked about loads of times but if you don't understand that there has to be a balance between giving guests enough access so they can see what the site is about therefore encouraging them to join and them having so much access they don't need to, then leave it to those who do.

Not forgetting there's one review section only visible to members.

Is that when you're connected with that phone to the G4 network or to local wifi hotspots?
How does the phone behave when it's attached to your home network?

So if you are accessing the site as a guest you will be restricted in what you can see, but you haven't explained how a non member has more access than a member.

I'm not even going to look for what "Capiche" so if you can't discuss an issue in a normal adult fashion giving details of ISPs etc used then count me out.

I think what he means is that if he accesses the site without being logged in he can see the unrestricted parts of the site, same as any other visitor/guest. Obviously access is limited and he can't post.
When he tries to log in to the site he gets the VPN error which stops him seeing anything.

when I connect my phone to my local wifi Home Network is Fine only when I use 4G network (in my case Lebara). anything I connect to my network (HyperOptic) is fine.

In that case the problem is likely to be Lebara routing the 4G signal via a kiddy filter, which the forum software interprets as a VPN.
I've had the same with EE.
Get Lebara to derestrict access
