Any SSRI will take anything uo to 3 months to fully start to have consistent effects. In the first few weeks side effects can be severe but you have to stick with them at least 3 months...even small doses can have drastic effects on some people similar to what large doses may do to other people.

After they get fully in your system a gradual cha ge to a different type shouldnt be to harsh if needed.

Excersise...less alcohol...good food...practice well being and cbt all help and in my opinion should be used first.
SSRIs can drag you down before they build you up.

As for the poster waiting for cbt...see in "minds matter" is available by referral in your area.

Cbt is given on most needs first.
You have to lay down your problems thick fast and messy.
Then should only be  a few weeks. Till something starts.
If you dont you go to bottom of list or
on no list at all.
You can see questions they ask before on line each question has a points score
Higher  score quicker help given. And more help.
