Being relatively new to the game and never having had an STI I feel like my knowledge is lacking in this department. I would like if the more experienced folk/SP's could rank acts in terms of how likely you are to contract an STI. It's not an exact science of course but I expect the experienced guys and SP's to be pretty close to the mark. I'll do it first by means of example (but I am probably wildly wrong).

Well it's not confusing, but it doesn't make sense for one simple reason. Eager as we all may be to have a frolic or two we are not even remotely qualified to tell you what the chances are. Nor is anybody else.

It is now 59 years since I last got a dose. I have spent that period fucking, licking and eating almost everything you can imagine countless times all over the world with females and a few males, without ever using a condom and never caught anything again.

Thanks, I actually find your reply quite useful. Agreed it's your  personal experience - however your experience has been positive. I'd appreciate if you could expand on how you make your choices and any practices you have picked up. Do you go for regular STI checks?

Firstly I would suggest you reread the rules you agreed to when you signed up, there's a link at the bottom of every page.

In case you haven't noticed I'm a moderator and part of the job is reading threads like this and pointing out if they are pointless or not, note I didn't say it was stupid, though in my personal opinion it is.

Threads don't get deleted by request and what point would there be in starting another one when you will get exactly the same response as you have got on this
one.

I'm not even gracing this with the status of proper research, but if you were even thinking of research in this area you could learn from Freakonomics - in that book a sociologist went armed with a questionnaire to talk to American Street gangs - he was eventually advised to add Fuck You to the responses. The risk level of contracting an STI is totally different to cake ingredients, in order to reliably assess the risks you face you need to look at reliable sources such as the NHS, some random punter posting their opinion is pointless.

Maybe start be reading the punting Wiki -  External Link/Members Only -  then read the NHS websites which will detail the risks involved with each activity.

If I may be so blunt this is my analysis of this forum

There is a toxic bullying culture, people are eagerly waiting for a thread to be posted just so that they can jump in and ridicule the OP. This results in new joiners posting very infrequently or not posting at all.. The ones that do post regularly drive this culture and of course the mods enable it and are part of this trait. Social compliance come into it because it's very easy to join in with the baying crowd. However, I do believe there are some who are more discerning, who would agree with me... I'll see if there's anyone brave enough to raise their head! I doubt it, because I've already been threatened with being banned (for what exactly??)and I get the impression that someone is itching to pull the trigger.

This last reply may get me banned. And if I do I suggest the more discerning members try and institute change, make this forum a class better. At the moment, it's no better than a classroom full of bullies picking on the new kid.

No you would not have had a good conversation for the simple reason that your initial question was idiotic in that no-one here is professionally qualified to give an answer. Just because we pay women to fuck them doesn't mean we know what the various STD transmission rates associated with that activity are. We all catch colds through social interactions with others at work, in the pub, on the bus, shopping or whatever, but none of us know the relative transmittability of the cold virus in those different environments.

If you think this place is toxic now, which it isn't BTW, you should have seen it a few years ago. However the site owners, admin and mods have got to great lengths to make the forum a friendlier place to be but we can't stop honest replies to questions in threads like this or when you sympathised with a numpty who dialled 999 because the SP wasn't what he expected.

Have a think about what you have posted here and consider what can be gained by punters guessing what STI risks are. Any medical issue has to be based on proven fact.

Thanks for a very balanced reply. I have formed an opinion on this forum, that's true. Although it's early days so not going to be too vocal about it. I guess the very nature of this forum means that everyone on here isn't gonna be a Ox/Bridge graduate... I get that. This is not a baking forum and the punters reflect that. Also, SP's also reflect that. I'm not expecting people to be discussing Shakespearean Literature here.

I'm going to continue to participate, there are some really great people here.

If this thread's topic was really useless then perhaps dont reply... the biggest indication of a thread falling on it's face is zero replies. by replying witgh 'youre stupid' type replies  it takes the thread off onto a tangent. Then any people that may have been interested also dont reply. Rule 101 of any internet forum is keep the threads on topic - that doesnt seem to be policed here. Replies like 'this thread is stupid' are not needed. If it really is stupid then no one will reply and it wouldve died a death with zero replies.

Anyway, I don't expect this forum to change on my say so.. You're right though I will watch for a while. But I do have questions and will post them here (who else can I ask?!?)
