Hey everyone.

Can anyone recommend a decent cloud storage to upload any personal naughtiness I may have stored on my phone with SPs?
Tried pornhub, xhamster but apparently they're upload section is closed for content creators only. Any place that's easy to log on with a decoy email and upload and access stuff. Thank you

Google drive with your Google account?...depends on how many terabytes of cock action you have too. Google is 15 gig I think.

Drop box is decent but again depends on the amount of data you want to store.

Just don't be surprised if you find anything deleted. Google will be quick to delete or hide adult content hosted on Google Drive that it "doesn't monitor".

1TB is included in MS 365 family or personal (£80 or £60 per year,  respectively).  You get all the office products and ad-free hotmail/outlook.com mail included too.

If you have a mate who works for MS, he should be able to add you to his MS friends and family list and then you can get it for about £25 for the year.

No such probs on OneDrive or MS in general based on my experience.

Google are cunts... would never trust them or have any accounts (email, Youtube, etc.) with them, ever.

Bit of an extreme reaction to Google.. the vast majority of normal people have a Gmail account and its fine. My entire life is baked into the Google ecosystem with Android and Gmail and calendar etc. And my punting life on the other google account which nicely syncs your contacts etc.

I heard that they only check / delete your adult content when you share it with someone else which triggers their systems.

I wouldn’t say calling them cunts is extreme - there are are far worse adjectives and expletives I could’ve added, but needless to say, I‘m not a fan and never have and never will trust them with my data.

I’m with you, they know very little about me. They are not a help service, their sole business model is based around advertising and they mine your data to sell ads. Anything else they do is to further profit by selling more ads, or for more money. They don’t exist to provide email accounts, cloud back up, mobile phone software or anything else. It is all a means to sell more ads and generate more profit.

I wouldn’t trust any of the big data rakers like Google or anything that’s free. Why link it to your email? You can go through Snowden-style lists. Dropbox for instance isn’t perfect but better than most of the big clouds linked to other services I think.

I see it as a mutual benefit really. They want to train their algorithms and sell ads, and I benefit from having a very good technology experience. Their email is better than any other in terms of reliability and features, their calendar integration, auto creating calendar entries for your upcoming trips, alerting me to bad traffic before i set off to work etc.

It's not perfect but my regular life outside of punting is boring and I have nothing of value for Google anyway. If they want to sell a few ads then it's fine.

Each to their own though. Just can't see why they're cunts.

I wouldn't trust any remote storage facility, cock action videos or family pics. The safest option I believe is a password protected encryption on your files stored on a hard drive at home.

So where do you back it up to, another hard drive?  The whole point of cloud storage is that it’s safe and fully retrievable at any time.  Tin tends to go tits up at some point or another... HDD especially when compared to SSD.

You have to consider the pros and cons of whatever storage media you choose. What if the person who mentions that your data is deleted for whatever reason is correct?  What are you going to do write to Google about your missing cock action family videos? A hard drive can be encrypted and disguised however you like. And I've never had a hdd fail so what do you think would be my choice? The only video's I store on one drive are the favourite all time 'wanking catalysts'.

If you're paranoid then use Google drive or alternative cloud storage but with an encrypted file using something like Veracrypt. That's a win win, and for safety back it up to different clouds.

Very subjective and I’d have to wholeheartedly disagree.  Gmail is simpler with a slick interface and decent integration with calendar and some of their other apps, however, Outlook and Outlook.com (web interface) has loads more features and options for a much richer (and more complex) email experience. The calendar and contacts (including tasks and reminders) are a fully integrated part of the app, so no need for other apps to be installed. It has a much better “learning curve” and synergy with other MS apps, ie. OneDrive, Office, OneNote etc.

I guess if your using a Chrome book/Chrome OS or Android, then Gmail may well be the mail client of choice, but for Users of Windows proper Outlook is miles ahead.  Not sure about IOS... the Outlook App works very well and has a lot of features, can’t compare it to the gmail app on an iPhone or iPad though.

Because they are notorious for mining your data, deleting content, sharing data (via cookies, google analytics etc.) with other organisations (eBay for one) and a whole bunch of other stuff behind the scenes that the everyday user has no idea about.

OneDrive has a built-in and encrypted folder... “Personal Vault”.  Anything you store in here is password protected and encrypted by default and has the resilience, safety and accessibility of being in the cloud so you can access from other locations and devices without having to plug in an external hard drive or be at your main home computer/device.

Get an android phone. Buy an external storage card (mini SD) nowadays you can get one with 1tb of storage unit, no seriously, move all your your naughty pic/vids on the card and continue with your collection. Once full just buy a new one.

Presumably you mean microSDXC not the 2003 miniSD format. How many phones support 1TB of external storage?

Offline Marmalade

It sounds like he wants to cloud store with the phone he’s already got. So unless they’re unmissable just use the cheapest. Of course any provider in the current climate could alter their rules to stop adult content, in which case he could lose them and need to get some more. Or there could be a data breach with his email linked to adult photos.

It’s the usual rule — who do you want to protect it from? What would be the result if they obtained it?
The wife? Officials in certain countries he might visit where all types of porn are illegal? If none of those are an issue, surely it just comes down to cost, password, and storage reliability.

Offline simping

Yes I meant micro SD, well that all depends entirely on your budget.
High end android phones but you're looking at maybe spending close to a grand or staying on contract for X years. Refurbished mid range phones are your best option: Samsung S10 as well as the A12 both support, Motorola Edge 20, Huawei p30/40, and the Asus ZenFone 5Z. My punting phone was a refurbished phone which originally had 64gb but extended that to 400gb with the microsd card. I've barely gone over 100gb

No of course it doesn't which is why you would have a back up of a back up. Which I do, despite never having a HDD fail. There are procedures that commonly damage these drives like kicking the power plug out too.
Also bear in mind that storing pornograpy might violate terms and conditions in which case they can wipe your ass clean and you don't have a leg to stand on.

As I said before,  it depends on how many gigs worth of cock action you have to store. I also don’t know their policy on storing pornography.

Happy to disagree with Google vs Microsoft - whatever suits your use case best.. I am deep in the Android and Google ecosystem and personally really dislike the Microsoft stuff. Just a matter of personal preference really.

But don't delude yourself into thinking that Microsoft are any better than Google for data mining, selling your data, leaking data to advertisers etc. That "free" Windows 10 is only free because they steal all your data including anything you type. You can opt out of some of the telemetry but there was uproar about how much data they collect.

I worked for MS for the best part of of a decade, so have a better insight to their inner workings than the average consumer.  While they’re no saints with respect to collecting user info, they’re quite removed from the devils that google are.

Like you, I have a preference but I didn’t base it on which OS, App, or UI I personally liked, I based it on who I felt more comfortable placing my personal data and information with.  I felt it was better to get into bed with MS on that basis.  It did help also having access to a lot of internal and confidential info at the time, and unfettered access to all of their mainstream end-user products for home/personal use.

Still, horses for courses as they say.   As for Windows 10... only use it for work.  My home machines are still  Win 8.1 and Win7..!

Cheers.

... don't forget, the expandable memory on your phone is accessible easily whereas the inbuilt storage on the phone is only available if you unlock the phone. Anyone can remove your card and wank to your movies (obviously not the wife though, in this case you're truly fucked).

As long as it’s legal and you don’t share it, you should be fine.

Bear in mind, “legal” could depend on where it’s being stored (certain Asia countries have strict regs as to physically where data can be stored - ie has to be on-shore data centre) and where it’s being accessed from, not just illegal content.

I’ve had stuff on my OneDrive for ages and never had a prob, neither has anyone I know who also stash their clips, films and images in the MS cloud.

You can also also keep it in the encrypted Personal Vault if you’re overly cautious.  The limit for the free 100Gb accounts is 3 files, but there are ways to get around this (plenty of links online) or paid- up subscribers can store as many files as they want in Personal Vault, up to their storage limit (1Tb for MS365 subscribers).

I’m aware of that, but it’s so deep, so embedded, so all-seeing. Most people have no idea. Every service they offer which pretends to be helpful (maybe it is but that’s not it’s purpose) is really just there to mine ever more data. It’s clever, but I don’t have to like it and I avoid it

Indeed, it’s almost impossible to curl up for a nice evening’s tv without feeling your choices are being profiled by unknown entities and manipulated to influence what advertising you see and how best to appeal to win an election campaign. It’s no longer necessary to win an argument, only to convince people that they are making free choices.

I don't disagree but can't see how Microsoft are any better. They're monitoring every keystroke and every web page you browse on your laptop including this site. I'd be careful about browsing this site on a Windows laptop to be honest if you enabled all of the tracking during setup.

It seems to be widely accepted that they're both as bad as each other.

Interesting links… but for the average and not-so-average person, security is proportional to perceived consequences. Running all of Linux, Tails, VPN and Tor is not practical for most people. At the opposite end of the scale, Snowden, who was able to use highest levels of security, was able to predict not whether they would find him but approximately how many hours it would take them. But they had motivation to use vast and expensive intelligence resources to do so.

So it’s the same for everyone: Work out what you want to protect, from whom, how bad that would be, and what is appropriate — then maybe add a bit more for the luxury of feeling a bit more private snd secure. For most people on here, a) you don’t want some stuff to get lost, and maybe you wouldn’t want a wife or others to have it. So I’m guessing that Google/Apple/Microsoft data collection threats are fairly low risk, they’re just a piss-off. A higher threat would be UKP getting hacked. A higher threat still would be guys leaving trails on here. If you really want to store (legal) videos that prying relatives won’t find an encrypted external drive should be enough. Or since external drives have a habit of failing, two, preferable with their own power source.
