Perfect example of poorly thought out legislation written by a miserable busybody with no idea of the industry. Nobody involved wants it. The escorts don't want it. The punters don't want it.

After this 'Nordic Model' bullshit was introduced in Northern Ireland, there was  an increase in violence against escorts, over half of escorts said it made their work more dangerous and at the end of it, only one idiot (I won't call him a punter as he was basically just stalking a petrol station attendant) was prosecuted.

The people defending this legislation act as though every escort is being exploited, or driven into it through poverty which is just nonsense. Loads of escorts are independent and most make great money, well above the national average.

One well reviewed escort in London I spoke with said she made around £120,000-£150,000 per year, owned multiple properties and I know she had been working for at least 5 years. Not exactly hard up. If you were driven into it by poverty, you'd think you'd stop after the first £20,000 or at least the first year.

Obviously trafficking does happen and it's horrific but it's a separate issue and most punters would have nothing to do with it. In fact there was a thread on here where a punter suspected a girl might've been trafficked and more-or-less every poster suggested he tip off the police.

If it is introduced, it depends entirely on how it is enforced. I suspect they would have nowhere near the resources to enforce it properly and it'd be something they mainly stick on people soliciting drug addicts etc.

Worst case scenario, travel abroad.
