Tip 1 Refrain from mentioning hotels by name.
Tip2 Edit it out before it's too late.

Forgot to mention it is in canary wharf. I will be in work attire if that would possible help me not stick out like a sore thumb?

Apologies. Not up to par on etiquette yet.

I thought mentioning the name may help someone assist me in any grief they may have gotten and how i can avoid it.

Discretion is the key when punting .
You run the risk of being outed if you give too much away.
Never broadcast your plans before a punt.
Read the rules, you'll find them helpful.

Not sure which hotel you are on about, but one that springs to mind, which is part of a small chain, and is used frequently by SP's is a dive. No key cards which is good, but place needs pulling down and rebuilding. Mobile service in their crap and bedrooms dated.
If you are booking a day-room try one of the bigger hotels on a reduced day-rate. I book a 4* hotel in Canary Wharf on a Friday, when the rates are rediculously low, and it goes down very well with any attending guests!  ;)

I can't believe what i was worried about. It went so easily!
Simply just walked in and then after an hour walked out. Did a reconnaissance mission beforehand aswell.
Didn't look anyone in the eye. straight to the lifts past reception, i must say it was empty and only one other genuine hotel guest in the lobby speaking to the desk. On the way out there were a number of concierge/receptionists idly chit chatting and doing not much (then again I am not worried about leaving thats the easy bit)

I was so nervous beforehand. But the two pornstars waiting for me (review to follow) gave me that extra drive to just go for it.
I was worried about being stopped and subsequently umming and ahhing as to explaining wtf I was doing there... would've probably said I was meeting a client for work or some nonsense of that sort.

In my experience...and i know how pathetic it is but i find people treat you differently if you wear a suit as opposed to say casual wear. With this in mind I have booked another Pornstar in three weeks time however this would be on a sunday, i guess it makes no difference and I will approach this in the same way i have done today?

I must say I get the impression posher hotels like the ritz, claridges etc are not fussed about punters using the rooms, I get the feeling they genuinely don't care. Not sure what anyone else feels or has experienced at a top hotel. Then there are also the 4 star hotels on the bath road in heathrow...I also assume they do not care.

You are spot on Kentade - Tripadvisor pictures were terrible so was actually dreading it. It is run down but they do keep the entrance and lobby somewhat presentable.

If it's the one I am thinking of, I booked the WG called MK something or other (Italian, short and chubby, lots of reviews) by phone as she was en route.  She was hestitant to take the booking but said that we'd probably both arrive around same time so she could.  I got there with 10 mins to spare and sat in the bar area next to reception, hoping the fuck the staff milling around don't know what the deal is.

She waltzes in to lobby with suitcase, collects key from receptionist, walks straight over to me and says "I take it you're X" (for that is my name) and we walk into lift together.  No one batted an eyelid.

ha amazing!

Yeah i guess the staff working at hotels like that know what the deal is and could probably recognise a punter as a sixth sense. Every time I slip into Jason Bourne mode en route to a punt thinking everyone knows what I am up to I remind myself no laws are being broken...

I know if i worked there I would probably arrange for meets during lunch hour

I find entering the Hotel and walking into the reception whist on my phone and pausing while chatting (to myself), gives me time to give the place a recce.

Wandering about looking for the lifts (why do some hotels hide the bloody doors?) will make you stand out, especially to security

Interesting approach, i would've thought that may draw attention to yourself with someone possibly asking if you were lost or needed help?

Although I did find myself naturally reaching for my phone for no reason whatsoever when i was halfway across the rather sizeable lobby. Maybe a subconscious comfort mechanism or something.

hotels are my favourite punting venues, always people milling about and coming and going, have never had an issue

Hotel meets are great if your’e not spotted by someone you know even worse if you don’t know they saw you. Rooms are usually big if the prossie not on dayuse bargain. Best thing is usually the shower always works better than the unserviced ones, mouldy, leaking ceiling or scolding hot ones at Prossie flats. At Midday punts are you very unlikely to be bothered as that’s the peak check time the receptionist will be busy.

A few tips about locating lifts if it’s your first time at the hotel...
1. Do a survey a day before I’d assume prossies do this too before booking new hotels
2. Failing that ask the girl where the lift is when you arrange
3. You can probably see where lifts are located from the out building - it will be an empty space without windows... or transparent windows so you’ll see the lift (not common British hotels)
4. Failing that other lifts are structurally positioned in the centre of the building usually in front of the receptionist desk.

I had a couple of girls show up to my 4 star chain hotel a month ago.

I had to go downstairs to meet them as the lifts used keycards. I emerged from the lift and looked over to the entrance (I wasn't visible to reception desk where I'd checked in less than 2 hours before) just as they walked into the lobby looking like your stereotypical whores; one had bright red suede heels and handbag and a skimpy little tan leather jacket over a tight, short black dress, and not much else, and the other had a short white wool jacket over an again short, lacy black dress and black knee high stripper boots. I beckoned to them from the lifts, knowing the dude who had checked me in at the desk had just copped an eyeful as they strolled straight past him.

I was worried for a second as this was my first ever outcall, but frankly I doubt the hotels give a shit. This was at 11pm I think so there was nobody else about. I will say that I had an excellent warm shower beforehand, was nice and relaxed and dressed in a loud, rollercoaster T shirt and jeans and Nikes, easy for the girls to pull-off me upstairs.

The contrast with incalls was palpable. No stress, no running against the clock, no awful public transport beforehand, no loitering waiting for a text, no dingy cramped shithole of a room with a shitty shower... instead a pretty sweet suite (har har) on the 16th floor with separate lounge room and two huge bathrooms, for variety whilst fucking, floor to ceiling glass so we could show off for the voyeurs in the ugly massive blocks of flats opposite, not to mention the still busy junction below, and even a very hearty pizza (and I'm from Naples so imagine how fussy I am about pizza) delivered by room service at 2am after the girls had left.

Hotel outcalls easily trump apartment incalls. Totally hedonistic experience. Haven't done a hotel incall yet.

That's definitely on the bucket list. I have not called escorts to a hotel room.

I totally understand the point about public transport. I have booked another incall to a hotel and will take me one hour to get there after work. Not looking forward to that

+1 couldn't agree more. Meets feel much more chilled and relaxed from the punter side I feel.....
