Magnum Force (1973). "A man has got to know his limitations". The second film in the Dirty Harry franchise and for me the best of the lot in terms of plot and screenplay. I enjoyed watching it again after such a long time.

Pale rider also shown again recently.  One of Eastwoods best cowboy films. Never get tired of watching it especially the shoot out at the end

Dr Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.  Cinema. 2022 movie.

Good reviews "but" I thought it was a multitude of rubbish.

Too much CGI and special effects. Story was total madness.

Not recommended. 12A. 2h 6m. stars Benedict Cumberbatch.

Action / adventure / fantasy.

Firestarter. 9/10

A young girl tries to understand how she mysteriously gained the power to set things on fire with her mind.

An adaptation of a Stephen King novel, Zac Efron and Kurtwood Smith help pull the story along at a fair old pace.  Enjoyable.

Watched it on Peacock TV via VPN and virtual credit card.

The Games - ITV

6 out of 10. Just easy watching without having to use any brain cells. Was on every night this week with 12 "celebrities" competing in Olympic games.. albeit poorly.

The presenting was atrocious with Holly Willougbooby and Freddie Flintoff both awkward as fuck and not knowing which camera to look at, talking over each other etc.
Proper amateur stuff not sure why but the chemistry was way off maybe Freddie had hit her for 6 before going live.

All 6 female contestants were verrrry tasty however. My ranking of ones I'd be happy to knob first to last.

🥇- Lucrezia Milarini. Jesus even her name is hot. Her in a bathing suit was the undisputed highlight of the week.
🥈- Christine McGuiness. Wasnt that bothered about her initially until I saw her weight lift. Amazing tits.
🥉 - Chelcee Grimes. Never heard of her some pop star. She was athletically pretty good and decent looking to boot. Scouse accent put me off (Christine McGuiness also Scouse but had considerably less screen time.)

Mel Bs daughter was annoying as her mum, Rebecca Sarker was lovely for 47 and Olivia Atwood just looked miserable.

Not noticed it mentioned here before now...

Knock Knock (2015)

Thriller staring Keanu Reeves, Ana de Armas and Lorenza Izzo.

Trailer:  External Link/Members Only

According to Rotten Tomatoes it got panned by critics and general audiences. I can't see why, except for virtue signalling or fear of being branded a pervert. It's not the best film ever, but I found several reasons to enjoy it. Ana de Armas is quickly becoming my favourite movie startlet, see below still from the movie (she is also pretty impressive as one of the latest bond girls)  ;)

I hadn't realised that. I thought the themes were quite modern. But looking at the Death Game trailer I can see the similarities. If I can find the original somewhere I might check it out. Thanks.

Saw Breezy
Clint Eastwood directorial debut. One that isn't really spoken about. The film bombed, but it's a really sweet film with a superb and subtle performance by William Holden and Kay Lenz (whose career never took off).

It's a shame about Kay Lenz she was a capable actress, that's the movie business.

Morbius 8.5/10.

Biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead.

Nowhere near as bad as the critics made it out to be.  Jared Leto and Matt Smith, Jared Harris and a few randoms make for an entertaining 1 hour and 45 minutes of stunning CGI.

Totally perfect for that role, wouldn't have worked with someone like Jodie Foster. Lenz has mainly done TV work since the 90s. Breezy was arguably her biggest film.

Quite enjoyed catching the first 3 eps of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds with Anson Mount as Capt Pike enjoying a speaking part (rather than getting mashed in Dr Strange), Rebecca Romijn seems to be aging rapidly, other younger, newer cast less nauseating than the lot in Discovery.

Halo was ok.  Pablo Schreiber suited the role.  Liked him in American Gods which was a fairly fun watch for 3 seasons, now cancelled, Bilquis was a hottie.

Star trek ( the original series) is now showing on the horror Channel on sky. Have to say it's looking its age now. Star Trek when it first came out only ran for 3 series although there are a lot of episodes in each series and seems to be more popular now than when it was first aired on tv. Taking into account all the subsequent spin offs and Films. I much prefer the Star Trek films to the Star War films. The only Star Trek spin off series I never watch was Deep Space Nine, I thought  this was booring. Have yet to see any of the more recent spin offs like Picard or Star Trek : Strange new worlds. Star Trek the original series had by far the best characters in it.

Eyewitness (1981). Better than average thriller, not much of a hit at the box office though. Sigourney Weaver and William Hurt are the leads, James Woods as a creepy janitor in one of his early roles.

Plenty (1985). Absorbing drama about a woman reflecting on her life and the choices she has made. Meryl Streep is her usual outstanding self, excellent screenplay from David Hare.

Dual. 0/10 Utter utter shit.

Upon receiving a terminal diagnosis, Sarah opts for a cloning procedure to ease her loss on her friends and family. When she makes a sudden and miraculous recovery, her attempts to have her clone decommissioned fail and lead to a court-mandated duel to the death. Now she has one year to train her body and mind for the fight of her life.

Just a total and utter letdown, a solid 8/10 up until the last 10 minutes, then -100 / 10, hence the zero rating.  fucking load of shit.  Avoid.

Top boy season 3 very dissatisfied due to writers lack of creativity, they copied Gomorrah for characters..

And judging by the copying season 4 if there was one would be shit as both protagonists will die due to a silly feud like the final season of the Gomorrah

Had some long distance traveling to do recently, so caught a few recent films:

Moonfall utter tosh.  Roland Emmerich films tend to be a bit far fetched, but watchable. This is a steaming pile of dog do.

Cyrano with the excellent Peter  Dinklage.  I'd seen posters for it, but hadn't grasped that it was a musical.  Very enjoyable, 8/10.
Dune been mentioned on here numerous times.  Pretty good IMO and will watch part 2 at some point.

singin in the rain yes, it's ages old, but doesn't fade. A true classic, and Donald O'connor (a much underrated performer) in fine form

I thought S1 started out okay but it gradually disappeared up its own arse and I struggled to get to the end of the run.

I tried S2 that came out recently but I've given up 2 or 3 episodes in. I dunno who it's aimed at to be honest but I find myself wondering that about 90% of TV/film output nowadays.

Fighting with my family - Film 4

Watched this film the other night.  The film is a true story about a young lady named Paige from Norwich who went to America and became a WWE wrestling star. Now I have no interest in WWE wrestling as everyone knows all the fights are choreographed beforehand  but I have to admit once I started watching it I stuck with it to very end and quite enjoyed it. She came from a dysfunction family background,  her father had served time in prison for violent offences and all the family were involved in the local wrestling scene.  Her brother taught her to wrestle and it was he who wanted to make it big in America.  It starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as himself,  Vincent Vaughan and Lena Heady ( from game of thrones) as her mum, directed by Stephen Merchant and the lovely Florence Pugh playing the part of Paige. A film I thought I would have no interest in but found it quite enjoyable.

I know there was a lot of x rated stuff leaked on the Internet about her. No surprise there as one thing that was shown in the film was most of the females who had auditions to become female wrestlers had no wrestling background but were models or cheerleaders.  I guess that's why most of them are so faf looking.

I guess this must a be a bit of a marmite film. I thought it was excellent, one of the most original films I've seen in a long time.

It is totally bizarre, even a touch insane. It can take a while to understand it's take on the multiverse. And there are several weird concepts it doesn't really bother explaining. Mainly it is full of action, with several martial arts fight scenes. Plus, lots of surreal, wacky humour that had me laughing hard.

It reminded me of some sort of mutant hybrid of the Matrix and Kung Fu Hustle.

Top Boy - Series 4 Netflix

7 out of 10 - when it's good its great but starting to feel quite repetitive.

The 2 main characters fall out but one gets into trouble and then the other helps them because they're bros. It also staying to sound a little bit Fast and Furious... "family, that's all that matters."

If you've watched and enjoyed the others you will probably enjoy this series too.
