Along similar lines to the punting budget thread. For me the problem is opportunities, not cash. Routine existence, out at the same time every morning, in the office all day, home at the same time every night. Even one a week is hard work.

I quite often book afternoons off work.  Six days annual leave will give you one afternoon per month.

I also sometimes work late, and I've now made a habit of never getting home until about an hour after I could have done.  This makes it eeasier to fit in a visit to one of the few escorts who isn't too far off my daily commute.

I am a keyholder for my office and often volunteer to stay late or come in at weekends when somebody (IT company, building maintenance) needs access. I get this time back in lieu which means that I can take a morning off for a punt with nobody being any the wiser.

When I was in a similar situation I used to do a lot of lunchtime punts, but I was in central London. Failing that, trains get delayed all the time. A half hour punt is easily possible.

Offsite meetings are a good one. I also find some lame arse excuse to be in half hour late and book a 9am slot for an hour (earlier if the prossie is willing).  Excuses are easier to make and I only have to make them to the boss, not the wife. He doesn't really give a shit, she asks lots and lots of questions.

Personally I gave up taking a dump at work when I found out the ventilation pipe from the bog exited next to the main door. Anyone standing outside having a smoke got a joyful rendition if said turd had a build up of flatulence behind it, amplified by the pipe even the quietest of dumps sounded like the QE2 setting sail.

What about asking your boss if you can do some compressed hours 4x10 hour days pretty much means you can have one day off a week or see if they would be willing to do flexi time of some sort. Or what about doctors/dentists appointments, might be worth going to the doctors regularly and using some of that time to get the little guy checked out at the same time (not at the doctors surgery unless its a GUM check up).

If your boss is unwilling to give you a cash bonus how about asking for a little time off everytime you do well. An hour or two probably wouldn't kill them and they might be willing but I guess it depends on where you work.

Some organisations have flexi time schemes which allows you to build up a credit in hours which you then take off. I guess if you are married then you wouldn't tell the wife.

For me its offsite meetings, my boss is based at different part of country and so saying to my team that I'm out to a meeting works for me if wg is close enough (but also far enough away!)
Or its the working late bug not as late as Mrs hl thinks I do
