Is there a reason why many don't have a phone no on AdultWork?

Am I correct in thinking Awank  even charge advertisers for showing a phone number and this is why many don't? If so why the hell do they do this? Also I know at one time it wasn't possible to just filter out profiles without a phone number. When I tried to do this some years ago I'm sure there was yet again some fee involved. 

Of course in many cases it could simply because they aren't genuine.

You're still correct, there is a fee to filter to ladies just with numbers displayed. I haven't bothered with this.
Just made a hotlist and stick ladies with numbers into it for a rainy day.

I would presume if they let everyone display a number for free, the only people who wouldn't would be the scammers.
Then no-one would pay for their PGs because it would be instantly obvious they were fakes.
So AW would lose loads of money...

Interesting to hear yesterday from a Prossie,  who said AW push and heavily emphasis the PG when they set up a new profile more so than anything else. Look at all the profiles with just a PG tab, amazing business plan AW have to encourage people's fraudulent activities.

I think it's £5/day - I guess one of the ladies can confirm/correct that - or that might be avail today. A tip i got ages ago was add them to the hotlist and save their phone no in notes for when they aren't displaying it. Also you can see if the number has mysteriously changed!!!

Realistically though if you are charging say 60/hh for your services then you are a loon to be unwilling to pay for a phone no. unless of course you aren't serious about what you do. I guess loads of girls setup a profile but aren't really sure if the want to work - ie timewasters.

I saw one girl and moaned that she never said when she was working on her profile. She told me it was all in the AW schedule. There was no schedule on her profile. She was bonkers though.

Regulars still get in touch with the number they have for me, they know the score, where I am, what's on offer so it's a quick phone call to arrange a time. Before I stopped displaying my number I would pop my phone on to check messages etc and phone calls would come through, would answer and it turn into a long enquiry. Now new clients I email with their questions, and some regulars do already book using that method.  I can answer when convenient instead of  them phoning and getting annoyed I'm not answering or I don't have time to speak to them properly.

Works well, and I know of other ladies who in a similar position who do the same.

You are correct it is £1 per day. Not all advertise their number as you can get more timewasters/address collectors and people just looking for text ping pong or wank fodder. Of course on the plus side you probably do also get more genuine enquires too as you are easier to get hold of especially for short notice appt's.

That's pretty much the way I book with regulars and email potential new WGs,  always seems to works for me but I rarely book less than a week in advance and thus don't have to worry about phone numbers showing. Think it is more of a problem for those punters who book same day.

As it costs AW money, they are far quicker to deal with that than other issues and they do delete profiles when they find them. Might be worth it for a newbie,  but if the prossie is established and has good feedback would they take the risk to save a couple of quid.

Seeing a phone number does not guarantee that the profile is genuine.

The girl pays £1 to display it and then sits back while guys buy her private gallery, money for nothing.

It will no doubt be a reason why some WGs dont have a displayed number as they dont wish to pay the £1 a day it costs them. Another will be they or their pimp prefers punters emailing and/or booking through A/W. Another will be because they arent genuine and really just want punters to pay for their PG scams.

If I can't speak to the girl, no booking, it's as simple as that. I don't care if she emails the numbers or texts it, as long as she answers calls.

Other reasons no number:
* Maid answers all calls
* She can barely speak English
* Is a crap shag, lacks enthusiasm and can't fake it on the phone

The reason being is they were either Romanian fakes, looked dodgy or had the usual "I don't do this or that", but no image matches, so I found another way of removing them. Nothing to do with AW getting their cut, just saving the punter from inevitably being ripped off.

Quite funny really. For some time now I have avoided even looking at profiles with a PG shown. Always a good chance it's a fake, especially those PG only. So concentrating on profiles with no gallery or maybe just a plain gallery increases the genuineness tenfold, especially the ones that are at least a few weeks old.

There is a reason not showing a phone number and in my case it's not the 1 pound charge per day.
I'm not based in the UK, therefore I can't register my account to the UK (my previous account got banned because of being registered to the UK, pretty silly, because I work in the UK, plus there is free movement in the EU, but who cares? AW doesn't, that's for sure).
And you may only use a number from the country you are registered in. And it wouldn't make much sense showing a foreign number.
But maybe mine is a special case.

With my first account I verified the account when I was in the UK. My account got verified. Then later I was called to verify again (!) in 3 or 5 days, I don't remember, and I wasn't in the UK at that time, so I couldn't verify. And my account got suspended for that reason. So I'm not risking to be suspended and deleted again. If anybody wants to contact me he can do via mail. Pretty stupid situation, but have to admit it's also easier to answer a mail whenever it is convenient for me, instead of answering a phone whenever it rings.

When I started out I displayed my number which instantly caused a huge surge in time wasters calling.  I had my number on my website and all my ads but adultwork attracted the most time wasters which was made worse by the fact that I was a newbie and so fair game. This was physically and emotionally draining due to the volume.

As a mum it was just not feasible me fielding so many calls at all hours and that was the reason I took mine down. I have recently returned to displaying it again and as I have since learned how to spot and avoid the majority of time wasters then it is much easier with it displayed and I prefer it.

Re-profiles which say "ring me" with no phone number: Reason this happens is that a woman will put the phone number on her profile, put money in her account. When the money runs out I don't think AW actually notify them that the money has run out, so they think the phone number is on there.

They could do, but many don't. 

I suspect (among many scenarios) there are men who offer to do an AW profile for free/cheap sex and don't offer on-going advice - many women don't even know how to look at their profile on AW, let alone login to and edit it.
