Viagra duds!

So, I've just been on a punt and the viagra I took did fuck all! Not even a semi. This has happened once or twice before.
I break 100mg tablets in half and the last time this happened the other half worked fine a few days later.
Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

Assuming it was genuine Viagra, and you're splitting the tablet equally, there are a number of factors which can effect the drug's effectiveness.
Not least alcohol, food and obviously sexual stimulation.
Were these other factors the same each time?

Yeah, pretty much.
I have a bit of a pre punt routine that I stuck to, nothing was different here.
Use generic sildenafil that usually work a treat.

I had no effect from a dose and when I checked the date it was close to expiry. It was also a batch I kept in the glove box so it may have been affected by the summer heat.

Yeah it's happened to me in the past. I put it down to having a heavy day of work and being tired/poor sleep and not at my "peak" compared to the time before when everything was all good.

It's not just the once it's happened so I can completely relate to your post. I have pinpointed it to what I said above as my work is pretty high pressure, long hours and stressful so it's not easy to switch off for a punt and feel energetic enough for it even with Viagra in me. I don't know what you do for work if my issue might shed some light on the issue or maybe it's a confidence issue but only you will know if that's the case or not.

Just my contribution but from my prospective I can relate to your issue so you aren't alone with this issue.

Tiredness may have been a factor.
Certainly wasn't stress or alcohol though.

If the other half worked perfectly a few days later, then it can not be the meds?

Tiredness is a factor, I find them pointless if the mind and body are not feeling it.

I don't take the pills (yet!) but have noticed if i'm really tired i take a while to get going. Weirdly if i have a hangover or have had a bit of alcohol (not loads though) no issue at all. Finally if with someone new never a problem, but i do tend to prepare/plan more for repeats/regs visits.

A lot of this is mental, not physical, but quite how you remedy the former I am not sure.

There are so many mental issues that can affect ED.
Stress, depression, guilt, low body image, relationship issues, sleep disorders, anxiety, performance anxiety.
They can be hard to identify.

What is interesting is that when we've had a next to no effect the after or side effects have  been almost non to not existant!.

I think food intake and timing has a LOT to do with it and how ye olde gut absorbs it too.

Mind you a girl with a lets get on and have a good fucking time is a lot of help:-))

Easy to say hard (lol) to do. Just take time before to relax, don't over think the meet at all - ive writen RP scripts sometimes ffs in the past and when they dont work out 110% to plan I start to worry a bit - just dont bother now.

Remember Viagra does not give you an erection automatically,you have to be sexually aroused.Perhaps the punt was just not doing it for you.I take one a couple of hours before a punt and get into the groove.More often than not it works,but there will be the odd occasion where you don't get the desired effect.

I’ve got hundreds of sildenafil that I’ve received on prescription over the past five years. I cannot keep up, due to covid, finances occasionally, lack of choice in the area. Also a dalliance with a sex-mad civvie! They all just go in a bag in my sock drawer and I grab one as necessary and they all work fine.

I think it’s the lack of attraction/ not feeling it in that moment that will cause lack of effect. My brother works in pharmacology and I asked him if tablets’ use-by dates matter and he said not particularly if stored ok

That’s not how the expiry date works.

That’s just the date the manufacturer guarantees efficacy.

After that date there may be a very gradual reduction in efficacy.

You can take any amount of ED meds, but if the necessary stimulation is not happening 'in your brain' then Mr Floppy will prevail. Then there are stomach contents to throw into the mix.

This day wasn't any different. So fuck knows. Only happened once last year in over 120 punts so I can't let in bother me too much.

Stress can also have an effect.

I was under a lot of work stress last year and had a couple of "failue to fire" incidents.

So the next time I thought fuck it and took 3 Viagra.

Had no effect whatsoever.

Stopped punting for a while and got my head right.
