Pop up before log in, why has it started?

I only use my phone to come on here, & for the last few months, there’s some sort of pop up ad just before logging in, it’s not there immediately, just after I start putting my username in, & is easy enough to close,!but I just wondered why it’s started now & what’s it for?

It's an advert, it's mentioned on the below thread recently, there's been quite a bit of discussion about pop-ups on that thread.

What has this got to do with punting?? Do you not think it's a forum issue and should therefore have been posted in the dedicated 'post forum issues here' thread?

I thought this was the place to post about something non punting related, like a general forum thread as opposed to a local forum bit.
