Author Topic: The Delights of Adultwork! Creating a Profile.  (Read 11341 times)

I have in the past created several profiles for girls and also a couple of parlours on AW. A friend of mine is opening a new parlour in Sheffield next month and asked me to do him a profile. I stated with a simple one page profile giving basic details. This was deleted because they said I was representing more than 2 people and hadn't created a group (I had).

Today I did another profile making sure I had set up the group profile first then added the parlour profile to the group as a member. It was automatically deleted again!

It's like trying to Platt Snot!!!

AW is a great site, but it can be very stubborn at times.

I believe that some of the emails generated to members and actions are done by robots

Whilst many people complain that AW helps promote scams, I personally think they do a lot of work behind the scenes to combat this and many things are automated due to the amount of scam sign ups they have per day, unfortunately, this can have a penalising effect for the genuine members

Just my thoughts....

1. Log in to Adultwork

2. Click on External Link/Members Only

3. Type "group" in the Search box and click Search

4a. Scroll down and click "My group has disappeared"

"Due to a technical fault, some groups may not appear and you may not be able to access them.  Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. Please advise us of your Group name here and we will reactivate it for you."

5. The link takes you to a Group Reactivation Feedback Form (for which you need to be logged in, hence (1)

6. Type in your email address "On what email address should we contact you?"

7. Type in the name of your group "Please reactivate my Group. The name of my Group is . . . "

4b Scroll down to and click "Why is my Group not Appearing"

5. Check the rules in case you've broken them:

"For your Group to appear you must have specified a Summary and Details for it.  Visit your Group's Settings page to remedy this.
Also, the manager must be active and have their email address verified.
The Group must have more than one member in it.  Members that are not active or that have not verified their email addresses do not count towards this number.

If your group details or summary contain a phone number, URL, email address or is in breach of our terms of use in any other way it may have been removed, along with the profiles within."

4c Read the Groups page here:
External Link/Members Only

I believe I said "Check the Help Pages" in the Guide to Adultwork. If not, please correct me. If I did, I can't stress it enough - most answers are there.

Hope this helps.

They are picking up on either your IP address, your MAC address or computer name, that is why normal guys who let escorts use their computers, get "red" aliases. This all done by various cookies

As from the 25th May the EU make this illegal
External Link/Members Only

AW serves from Belize which will not comply with the law so it will be interesting what the EU will do about foreign cookies arriving in the UK.

AW use Google analytics which can feed back info on you.  As the EU have declared cookies as privacy invasion, Google have produced a plugin opt out if you use Google Chrome
External Link/Members Only

Also available for Internet Explorer & Firefox

Google analytics invade your privacy so everyone should opt out

I did have a problem some time ago with multiple profiles and aliases but I e-mailed the administrator explaining that I had done a general profile for a parlour, added several of the girls to the group and then done individual profiles for some of the girls who wanted to offer independent escort services. AW was fine with this.

Not sure what's going on this time it seems to delete the profile within half an hour of it being set up!

As for combatting scammers it seems to me that the ought to be more on the ball with profiles after they've been set up and suspected scamming activity has been detected.  I am certain that no-one I've set up profiles for have scammed anyone so they can't associate my mac or ip address with such activity. Yet you see ladies advertising as escorts when they are clearly webcam providers or just trying to get you to view a private gallery.  Private gallery view generate revenue both for the member and also AW which is perhaps why they aren't so keen to tackle the problem!

I don't punt that often but when I do I've learned tro be selective about who I choose. My main criticism of AW is that they make it difficult for you to leave feedback if you haven't had a booking that's confirmed, %%% seems to have a downer on anyone wanting to leave feedback on an AW service provider. This site is a breath of fresh air because it allows you to leave feedback for the benefit of others irrespective!

Have you had any response emailing them this time? I trotted off a reply rather swiftly since no-one else had spelled out their official procedure, but you sound as if you've done the rounds with them and probably know quite a lot about their system. It's an interesting point so if we can hammer out a solution it might assist anyone having similar difficulties in the future. Most deletions seem to be from minor infractions of the (constantly changing) rules, but false negatives seem to trip people up too (was caught out like that myself about a year ago). Good luck anyway, and I hope you maybe can let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately NO I haven't had a response to the 2 e-mails I sent. It was much easier to contact the AW administrators when I did my last profiles about 9 months ago!

As I've said I'm all for tackling scammers but I think they ought to do something about them after the profiles have been set up and scamming activity reported.

As for my mate's new parlour I've advertised it on other forums but hope to ge it on AW soon. I'll try to keep you posted.

Hi Munterhunter99,

I set up a profile for a friend,  and have just today set up profiles for a couple of her friends. They can't access AW at Uni, so their emails are forwarded and I said I'd log in to update them, but I'm now thinking I might have the same problem as you. I didn't want to set up a group as it looks like you have to be group manager and then have the group on show. I'm not getting anything financial out of this and don't want to be seen in that way. Are you able to set up a group that doesn't show to the public? Or is it best to try and explain the situation like you did? I've not had great responses from AW (redirected to help pages that don't answer the question), so am a little concerned now that I've said I'll do something for these girls and their profiles could be deleted without warning.

Any comments would be helpful.

AW clearly have a conflict of interest when it comes to keeping a scammer-free site. They've made a few gestures but their main motivation as far as I can see remains not wanting the site to fall into disrepute to the extent that people cease to use it. They're not doing anything 'wrong' - it's an open directory. And they make it clear they're not interested in being philanthropic to punters or prostitutes. Some of Jacob's work seems to be hitting the mark (on the suspected fakes threads) and individuals can always report suspected scammers to AW, but I've given up saying what they should do except for when people have ideas on how to make them. Just business!

Regarding Matt's problem, yes there's a way round it. I don't see that it's a good idea to post it on an open forum or even (no disrespect) by PM. If you were an established contributor I'd got to know over a couple if years that would be different if you see my point, but it won't help anyone except scammers if we promulgate certain tricks of the trade willy-nilly (and this is also out of respect for the person who showed me). But I think you'll figure it out yourself, it's not that hard.

Thanks Marmalade - I wasn't sure why it was a secret when I first read your message, but think I understand. Obviously me being too innocent.

Will have to think about it now - or establish my credentials over the next two years ; )

YUP, there is a way around it. I met a lady in Manchester who actually has loads of profiles on AW in a 50 mile radius, every one being different and AW allow it.  As marmalade says, it is not that hard but not something to broadcast cos of scammers

Hi All,
I am an Escort Web Designer...If you want to create an adult work profile or perhaps several profiles on AdultWork that will stay up and not be removed, to ensure you gain more business your way, then please get in contact.  I am also able to create profiles for agencies and independent escorts who would like to have more than one profile, without being linked to a group account. As many are aware, it has become even more difficult to create and keep up profiles on this site. If you are interested then please contact me to discuss further.
