Ash Regan is a despicable bigot, trying to make a reputation for herself by attacking sex work and sex workers through criminalisation of consensual sex between adults, which is patently absurd.
She, and her fellow feminazis, disingenuously paint a picture of all sex workers as under age, pimped or otherwise victims of traffickers. I suspect she knows this to be untrue but it is a useful line of attack on sex work.
If her bill were to succeed, which I doubt, we’d have a Northern Ireland situation where sex work is illegal but not prosecuted because of the lack of police resources. Moreover, criminal prosecutions in Scotland require corroboration; no sex worker is going to grass on her clients.
