Author Topic: Appeal over alleged blackmail of escort website users in NI  (Read 4407 times)

Date 14 July 2020

Reports of online blackmail incidents involving users of an adult escort website are being investigated in Northern Ireland.

Information received so far, by detectives in Antrim, has been from men who accessed a local escort website.

It is understood that after talking or texting with a woman, the men are then threatened that if they do not pay money, details of their contact will be disclosed to their friends and family.

The PSNI believe there are more victims who have not contacted police due to the sensitive or embarrassing nature of the incidents and detectives are appealing for them to contact police now.

They are urging anyone with information to come forward and assured people that their information will be treated in confidence.

Detectives in Antrim can be contacted on 101 or a report can be made online at External Link/Members Only.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at External Link/Members Only.

Sam182 .. yes I can't stress enough how important a punter phone is.

That's horrible what a cunt! That's another reason why they should scrap that stupid law making it illegal to pay for services, so pieces of shit like this can't get away with things and people will be more confident in coming forward if things like this happens in future.
Gotta say thanks to everyone on this site I started taking my personal info a lot more seriously...punter phone and email

Should be done under the Trades Descriptions Act too.

NI being so backward makes this sort of crime significantly under reported. The law as it stands makes it incredibly difficult for the man to report it. I have said it before but for your own safety you should use a unique email, a phone you don’t use for anything else and a SIM card. Even if your going for legit massages it makes sense.

It's stories like this that make you think. I've always had a punting phone for discretion. I've been lucky in most of my meets before I joined here but thanks to reviews and information passed here it's made me more aware and cautious of scams and set ups.  Thanks to everyone who posted information about this scum. The law here doesn't help incidents like this being reported easily and keeping privacy is a problem. NI lives in the dark ages.

Okay, men in relationships will be wary of reporting the incident to PSNI / cops , and unattached men don't care. Win win for the cops either they can arrest someone who illegally paid for sex or a blackmailing cunt .

...so be careful !!

I don't think NI as such is the problem..the laws apply across the UK, even in England it gets uncomfortable when you're charged for having paid sex with trafficked girls :scare:

Sorry Jay I thought she was local. The law is different in NI compared to the rest of the UK when it changed in 2015. I’ve always look for an independent girl or a local girl. I didn’t realise the woman in the story was also involved in trafficking. Anyone involved in this should and deserves to be prosecuted. As you say it’s scary.

Men who are married or girlfriend, casual fuckbuddy or are single it doesn’t matter by using real info you are putting yourself at risk. Research after the NI law came into force showed trafficking had got worst and they worked out that £500k a week was spent on sexual services. Now that would mean that there should be thousands of men going through the PPS and courts if the PSNI made it a priority to arrest and charge every man paying for pleasure.

The reality is that just because they introduced a law it didn’t stop sex work and they simply don’t have the resources to stop two consenting adults and it would be very hard to prove. For example a local man contacts a local woman and they agree in a transaction for a shag. If they both claim he was paying for time and companionship but they then consented to a shag then is that really in the public interest for the PSNI to investigate.

So they focus on the shocking treatment of  trafficked girls and gangs masters and rightly so but in my opinion having the law as it is in NI makes it more difficult as it drives that side of it deeper underground.

As far as I'm aware there's no suggestion of trafficking.
Also you're conflating two sets of legislation. NI has specific laws making it illegal to pay for sex, which is nothing to do with English anti-trafficking law

The NI law was tacked onto anti trafficking laws so that’s maybe where the confusion arises. Goes beyond just paying for sex though. Think the term is sexual activity likely to sexual gratify the person paying so Happy Endings are covered, FINDOM, probably lap dancing too?

I dunno guys I'm not British or Irish.  Like some here, I try to minimize the risk, local girls, punter phone and and .  The residual risk remains or you have to give it up.

Not much in the article, but here i is anyway.

This shows how important it is not to reveal any data about yourself to the hookers.
As I always preached, it's a business and not dating you're just a walking ATM machines in the eyes of the tarts. There is nothing wrong with that as long as the hookers sell the illusion properly and the price-performance ratio is right, and it also shows that it is inappropriate to have an understanding of prepayment models or anything else. The hookers are not your friends, always bear in mind.

EDIT : My deepest condolence to the family of her victim . :hi:
