I'm wondering if the very increased prices many are seeing girls charge is because they are now having to account for VAT having increased their base charges and so reach the registration point.

The lady is right to warn SPs to keep their tax position in mind. Being a bit of a tight wad in these matters I would urge SPs to stay below the registration point £85k when I last looked.

How many more price threads do we need

I thought this was comment was from a punter but then I realised it a service provider complaining about punters complaining about prices.

Give it a chance. It's only the beginning of the month. Our usual quota is 4 prices threads a month if I'm not mistaken  :D

It's almost as if prices have increased faster than wages and people have less disposable income

I wasn’t complaining as such, but it’s the same thing that just goes round and round and round

FFS, do people not read the forum before starting threads, that very article was linked to yesterday in the 6 page 'Do escorts earn too much?' thread which is very near the top of the page.   :dash:

Why not post your reply on the already running thread linked to above. We don't need two on the same topic and why should I have to bother merging them because people keep posting on it despite it being explained about the other thread.   :dash:

In my clumsy way I was trying to remind folk that for business VAT is levied on receipts (turnover) whereas income tax is charged on profit ie receipts less expenses.

The SP mentioned in my OP appears to be a tourer so incurs Hotel Bills. She is registered for VAT or should be.
So she is able to pray in aid the VAT on the hotel bills against the VAT she charges for her services giving a net VAT payment to HMRC

Her profit is Income less Expenses shorn of any VAT numbers. Again this is a simple explanation.

Working girls paying VAT ? Unicorns right.

Yes I know, almost as rare as an SP paying Income Tax, though I think more of 'em are wised up to that tax issue these days. My particular fave girl was hauled over the coals a while ago on Income Tax but VAT was not an issue since her total income was below the registration level for VAT.

As prices go up so does the possibility of a VAT liability arising.

Remember, the VAT was put under the purview of Customs and Excise originally. Those chaps had powers way above the then powers of the Inland Revenue as it was.

I flitted though that bullshit.
Where was the part where she spent the whole day on a grubby cheap mattress blowing fat sweaty cocks.
A quick rinse of her minge before the next punter arrives, fatter and smellier than the last who does her doggy while she texts the next ten guys saying “5 minutes baby”?
