Thanks for your replies both. Yeah it does seem a little out of the way in the area I will be staying.
I'll have a look at buses and I'm guessing Uber is about too?. Both recommendations look good so i'll fire off a message.

Just a word of warning since I replied to you Andy. Anna Thai [
External Link/Members Only ] messed me around badly with meeting times after we'd confirmed a booking. Booked an hour with her, then on the way to her, less than 45 minutes before parking up for meeting, she texted me to say she had to move the meeting to an hour later because she quote "has been outside", or some such bollocky excuse.
I think what she meant to say was a regular who pays for extras called to book and wanted my slot. Maybe it was lost in translation.
Either way, I turned down her offer. Would have driven 25+ miles to Bristol and spent money on parking, but fortunately I'd left my phone on for once in the car and heard it ping whilst sat at traffic lights not far from home, otherwise I'd have been well p*ssed off.
Either way, something I thought you should know as it sounds like you've not got a car to get into town with.
I'd say to take a second options list with you in the same area if you book her, as I have a nagging feeling she's done this before to someone else, will try to find the post. *May* have been another WG.
Can't speak either way for Uber, but the buses in town seem to be running normally.
I know this app serves at least some of the Bristol buses, maybe all? :
