Author Topic: Deposit - payment upfront  (Read 4018 times)

Don't do it. I once contacted a WG who had a good reveiw on here and surprisingly i was asked for a deposit up front to book an appointment. I politely declined . Haven't heard from them again. It may be my loss but there are loads of other WGs who don't ask for this and i still have my money.

Starling bank offers the same zero fees. Both excellent banks. Starling is online only but AFAIK cheques can be paid in by post

Indeed. Starling is even better as they cover not only in Europe but worldwide. Good to have both them one as a backup. I have both of them.

"AVOID! Beware of this DEPOSIT SCAMMER!... She asked me for £60 deposit via Axxxxxx Gift card, which I thought was resonable and sent it to her mobile. After I got the confirmation from Axxxxxx, she just stopped replying to my text and also deleted the message that I sent on AW.. AVOID THIS SCAMMER AT ALL COST!!!

This happens far too often. Deposit scams are warned against in the punting wiki: External Link/Members Only and External Link/Members Only.

I've never paid a deposit and think it highly unlikely that I ever will.

I can remember on one forum some time ago a WG had taken a deposit but had to cancel. The punter rightly wanted his deposit back but she was only prepared to allow a deduction off a future visit. That wasn't convenient for him. She was seeking validation in her post that she was right in not returning it. Needless to say the general consensus was that she was unreasonable and that she should return the deposit.

Are you the same Silverado who used to post elsewhere years ago?

Yes, I am. My account was deleted when I stopped posting because I was in a relationship for a while. She was the suspicious type. So I stopped punting (well not really, but I did cut down) and I thought that it best not to go on punting sites because she was always wanting to borrow my lap top, phone etc.

My mistake. I would have been better off sticking with UKP rather than her.

I've got no complaints about my first account being deleted. My reviews and posts are still there but for those I'm "Silverado (Guest)". I think that I joined UKP a couple of days after you in August 2010 right at the very beginning. I'm really glad to be back.

Good to see you on here. In fact I didn't join UKP till February 2011 as I was on a punting break including from forums for 6 months when UKP started. When I returned I was amazed to see what had happened on pnet, and a lack of punters on their. Then I was told about UKP by Steve2 and joined immediately.

If a WG ever asks you to deposit as a bank transfer and tries to scam you, just report her bank details to her bank as fraud and they will freeze her account and conduct an investigation, may take sometime to get your money back but she'll think twice before attempting that nonsense again. I would not pay a deposit in any form to be honest, cash is best for this service.

Offline WDFORTE

Some of the women seem so alluring that the prerequisite of a deposit seems a minor inconvenience.  I've never paid a deposit, I never would on the grounds that I might get ripped off.
I'm not saying all women who want a deposit are scammers, unfortunately; there are too many that are.  Just not worth the risk.

That sounds ridiculous to me. Why would they freeze her account?

Posted my review but I got scammed hard by a WG so I'm very against giving a deposit now

Give them an inch and they'll take a mile as they say

That's what banks do when a customer gets reported for fraud. If someone sent me money and then reported my account for fraud/scamming claiming they sent me the money under false pretenses or mislead etc, my account will get frozen until the investigation is completed. You can still access funds but you will need proof of where the funds are from to access it. Life will become very difficult if you only have one bank account and no alternatives to get about transaction wise.

Only once, about 4 years back.
I had some very specific requests, dress, hair etc from a Woman I'd seen before. It went extremely well but I'd probably not do it again.

I had to share this, not sure if this has happend to any of you guys........

I've just had an email from an escory (Who i won't name) asking for a deposit, for a meeting that we haven't even arranged!!

The email read about how we're going into another lockdown and that times were hard, and its been a tough year, hopefully be able to meet soon...
Then at the bottom she asks if I could possibly send a deposit to her as things have got tough!
I was a bit taken a back with the request, shocked to be honest. Have any of you guys had anything like this? I'd be interested to know.

A little bit of me feels sorry for her but I'm not prepared to send any deposit to any escort even if we wasn't in a global pandemic.

Offline Rock123

Why won't you name her? She could well be scamming so you should.

Have you seen her before thus she knows you to ask for money? Or is it out of the blue?

Offline Sparky Legs

I'll be honest, I've not seen her before but had been trying to arrange something after we opened back up from the first lockdown but for one reason and another it never happened.

The email came out the blue to be honest, think she was going through her emails and just trying her luck. Sad really that you have to pretty much beg people for money.

Offline Sparky Legs

Will do, thanks for the advice. Bit of a spur of the moment thread.

No question you need to name her

She’s trying to scam you. She’ll be doing the same to others

Offline berksboy

How can they be hard up with the amount of money they make !

It goes further than that if proved, the account will be cancelled and it will be very difficult to open another in these days of computer tracking. Everyone should have a back up bank account, you will not know how much you use it or how difficult your life can be until you cannot access it.

Offline Fkk

Name her please.

This is a forum where guys post honest reviews to make sure we don’t get ripped off and scammed.

If you feel you will put yourself in a compromising position and don’t want to name. I been guilty of this in the past and have been reminded by the guys on here to think before posting. As will get asked to post the name of the person.

You do need to name her.... To protect anyone else she may be targeting: Cos believe me she ain't just doing this to you. You're not special to her in any way, you're seen as a possible mug who might feel sorry for her and hand over cash...... This type of scam needs a wide, scattergun approach as it's a numbers game.

I've merged this with the existing thread, but unless you name the escort it's a total waste of time you posting. escorts emailing out of the blue asking for money is something we need to be aware of.
