I’m planning a meet with a sugar baby over Christmas & have been looking at hotels on triviago & booking but they all have a warning saying if you can’t prove you are an essential worker, your booking will be cancelled.
No such warnings are on rented apartments so are they fine with anyone booking?
Would be good to hear if anyone has experience of booking during tier 3 restrictions. Cheers  :hi:

I assume you are not asking is it legal (which it isn't) but has anyone any experience of how much of a hassle it will be to break the law?  ;)

I'd asked a couple of Airbnb owners if it was OK, they were happy to take my money!

I don't understand why you're restricted in checking into a hotel in which you spend time in a pretty isolated room that should have been cleaned, whereas I can pop to Tesco or TKMaxx, and they're mobbed so I'm bumping into people, touching something 50 people have just touched etc.

I booked a tier 3 hotel last night to see an escort, no problems at all

You don't understand the restrictions tier 3 imposes at all then. It's the same reason pubs etc are shut. There are things you need to buy to live life as normally as possible so shops stay open, but there's restrictions on all forms of social activity and entertainment so why would you need to stay in a hotel if it isn't work related.   :unknown:

The essential worker bar is quite low and you may fit in several categories. The bar is quite low. I'd pick something that is close to your core skill.
The categories are very similar to this list

I'm still regularly staying in hotels all over the country and in London for short overnights or a few days. I haven't had a problem so far. If it's genuine work (with punting as an aside), I have someone book it for me. If it's punting disguised as work (or training) I book it myself.

I've been asked a few times and all I say is "I'm a government worker providing an essential service the details of which I'm not allowed to discuss." If they really press I give them a telephone number to call of a switchboard who are particularly unhelpful and officious.

Thanks for the replies. I don’t want to risk having my booking cancelled on the day so I’ll avoid hotels for the time being.

What is the process of checking into an apartment/Airbnb? Do you book it then meet the owner who gives you the keys?

I looked at one the other day and it mentioned getting a keypad code.
Whether that gains access to an entry door, to a security box inside with a key or what, not sure.

Some places in the past have had the owners meet you, give you the keys or the security box code messaged to you.  Would have thought minimal contact would be on people's minds, but I suppose it depends on the property as some AirBnBs seem to be a room inside someone's apartment.

Most AirBnb I've used have a security combination keybox and the owner msg me the combo before the event. Some have a ring like security lock. Stayed in one recently who still had a cleaner coming in daily and she was much better looking than some of the SP's I've used recently.

I've used a few recently and they have all been key code. If in doubt message them to ask.

I stayed in a hotel this week for work in a tier 3 area.
As I was travelling for work, they asked me to fill in a form which needed my company name and address, email, reason for travel, my name, address and phone number. As far as I am aware, there was no checking of my info, and the form was just filed somewhere.

I had an Outcall at an AirBnB with a regular 2 weeks ago. No questions asked and all smooth. Bloody good price too :D

Yes a very recent meet with a WG who is now a regular. I reviewed ages ago. I should also add since July I have had two other AirBnB punts with WGs I first met on an Incall. 2nd meets Outcall. All in London. Never had an issue.
