Author Topic: Can escort report you to police or civil for posting a negative review?  (Read 3718 times)

Offline Sta8eless

I have recently been in a horrible punt where I was dealt violently and treated very badly because I said that the escort looked very different from pictures and wanted to leave. I escaped by paying some amount but afterwards I message her saying that I will make sure that I post a review about your attitude so everyone will know. I did post a review and now she has been sending me messaged that she is going to report me to place for defaming her. I'm still recovering from the horrible experience I had so probably not thinking straight but can anyone advice if our reviews here can be used as defamation and if that is a chargeable offence?

Online Jonestown

I believe defamation is a civil matter and as such of no interest to the police.

Offline Sta8eless

So are the reviews that we post here considered as defamation?

If they were incorrect they could possibly be construed that way, but remember it's "defamation of character" and nobody is going to waste court time over someone whose moral character would already be defined as low by virtue of being an escort, especially a crossgendered escort. And anyway if you're reporting the correct facts it's not defamation.
Don't worry about it. She's bluffing
In fact if she harasses you simply point out that harassment IS a crime, so is assault (when she grabbed you and prevented you from leaving) and if you hear from her again then you will report her to the police.

No.  The police would just laugh at her.

Add a post to your review to make others aware of her harassing you.

Escorts do it all the time, and lie on there profile, like

I'm 25 years old, and all female, but when in fact she is really 36 yr old, and a TS escort

Offline Sta8eless

I think what worries me is getting dragged into this by authorises and then knowing that I was approaching escorts. Which is what worries me.

How does she know your identity?

Offline Sta8eless

She has my phone number that I contacted , picture on WhatsApp and also my name as I had it on my status( which is stupid of me)

If they dealt with you violently, surely that's more a matter for the police?

Offline Sta8eless

It is possibly but why would I report to police that I was approaching an escorts in first place.

What authorities??  :unknown: with the exception of Northern Ireland buying sex from a escort who isn't trafficked, under age or coerced is not illegal.

I bet she wants the review taken down, which isn't going to happen BTW.

Some reading for you on the legalities of prostitution. -   External Link/Members Only

FFS, only if you solicit in public, read the link above and stop worrying.

Buying and selling sex is legal, even if you were in a brothel you wouldn't be doing anything wrong.

Using an escort is not illegal in England or Scotland, as long as the escort is not underage, under duress, or trafficked.
This one clearly isn't any of those

That's a separate issue - never ever use your day-to-day phone, use a spare cheap phone that is not linked to your social media. If you want to use WhatsApp the make it a different account with false name/details and NO PHOTO

As Davie and others have pointed out you have nothing to fear regarding authorities and which she would not report you to anyway. However you were very careless with the security of your ID and need to learn from that  :hi:

Indeed I was. This is a lesson learned for sure

The escort's threats are counter-productive as now, as well as a negative review, there is also this thread which will put any sane punter off visiting. As requested earlier please add a link to this thread to your review.

You feedback on this service provider will be really useful for any UKP members considering a visit.

They could try but the police may laugh.

Do restaurants report negative reviews to the police?

It's not a police matter. The SP should take the feedback and perhaps update their photos so they match what a SS will see when they walk in the door or update their profile to describe themselves more accurately.

The SP needs to set SSs' expectations approximately and then there are no surprises.

It wasn't very clever you saying you would post a review.

Both you and the SP need to move on and learn from the situation.

Life is too short.

She is making up stories. What she plans to report is that I attacked her as she refused to have sex with me for 50 pounds.

A prossie once showed me a message from a punter on her whatsApp - it had his profile picture on and she said she thinks he's attractive. It was Philip Schofield 🤣🤣(before he came out).

Nothing will come of it, she's blackmailing you and she can be jailed for that.

But for your own protection, type out a full statement of what happened as you remember it.
Do this NOW before you forget any details, and include EVERYTHING that happened and was said. Including all subsequent communications.
If it's easier to do it in your own language and then translate afterwards then do so, but make sure you keep both versions.

You'll probably never need it, but it's just in case the police do come to see you: it's better to be prepared now than have to answer questions in a foreign language in a hurry

Do not delete any texts or WhatsApp message

If she demands money, tell her if she repeats the demand she will be reported for blackmail

Extremely unlikely she will do anything about it - it's just threats to make you remove the review. As daviemac said, the review isn't going to get removed, even if you ask for it to be.

So best you put the kettle on and chill.

She is making up stories. What she plans to report is that I attacked her as she refused to have sex with me for 50 pounds.
Making false reports of crimes is wasting police time and she could be fined for that.

My recommendation is keep records and screenshots with all communications with her just in case something does come of it then block her and move on.

She is massively overreacting to a negative review. Negative reviews happen. SP don't like them and that is understandable but there are good and bad ways of handling them. A good way might to respond on the review and say she is taking your feedback onboard and she has updated her photos and profile to address comments you have made so she more accurately advertises herself.

Reacting badly and threatening to report someone to the police with made up stories just makes the situation worse for the SP as now other SSs will be wary of booking her in case of having a similar situation develops.

I had a similar reaction from one SP. I still have all her messages and other details stored away just in case I ever need them.

You both need to drop it and move on.

You could always report her to the police for assault but probably best to leave it. Save all the messages and threats and then block her.

crime is rife at the moment.
A negative here wont warrant police investigation. If the prosse can afford a good lawyer then maybe she can sue. But if you used a pay as go sim. they cant track you.

Unless you do a crime against prosses police wont do anything

Can they report you to the police?  Yes, just like you could report a fool who cut you up in the car, or someone that said something about you that you didn't like.

Will the police do anything about it? Not a chance!

The police may ask her to show them her profile and compare them to how she looks in the police station and then tell her they agree with the review and suggest next time someone says they don't want to go through with a booking that she just lets them leave without assaulting them.
