Just back from my holiday i was there when carnival started on  the 8th of Feb in Salvador, every state celebrates carnival in the month of February but some start it sooner or later in the month.
I travelled with two other guys one Portuguese and another who is italian and we stayed in a nice airbnb apartment in rio vermello.

The first week consisted of just relaxation, i no interest in punting at all and i spent most of my time at the beach, the second week i was looking online for escorts that done outcalls, but due to the fact that apartment had security/watchman it would of been hard to bring a prossie back there.

What i found strange was that this city is nothing like Sao Paulo or Rio for example you can do google searches and find quite a few escorts or clinicas that you can easily get a cab to and have fun. But in salvador its different most of the prostitutes are street girls and as im not familar with this city i avoided them plus to find them you have to visit the lower part of town and that can be risky.

When i was in a cab i asked the driver where the best place was to find a brothel or high rise apartment that girls work out of and was told that i need to dress down as if i ventured to these places i would be easily targeted and that i talk portuguese like a european. I skipped his advice and he droped me and friend to a bar where the girls are whores and this was located in a a shithole area, all of the girls were black apart from one who my friend went with she was mulatta. He paid 40 reals for a quicky with her upstairs. I choose a black girl who was in her late twenties massive ass and thighs i spent 30 mins with her and paid her 50 reals in reality i could of paid her less but i thought best to keep her happy just incase a situation arose. Once i was done we had a few beers and had to walk through this area to find a taxi to take back to the apartment.

A few days later while i was at the beach i got talking to a middle aged canadian guy and we started talking about women and football he showed me about a site/app called Brazilcupid  which is full girls and prossies. I signed up the next day and met a university student who wanted some extra money, during the convo she said she wanted 250 us dollers. But i got her down to 100 us for a 1 hour and owo. Only bad thing was i had to travel to her university dorm to fuck her  :sarcastic: which turned out to be a good punt.

My other mates had a few meets from this app with varied success, also some of the girls wanted more money due to it being carnival season. Once carnival started on the 8th its was just ridiculous the prices women were asking for on this app. But you have few rich brazilians that will travel from sao paulo or other parts to try some of the black girls and will pat through the roof for them.

During carnival i got talking to a woman that was down in salvador from Fortaleza which is in the state of Cera, i ditched my friends and spent the day with her went back to her hotel and jackhammered the living hell out of her  :diablo:. Exchanged numbers and email so i will keep in touch with her.

I would say that salvadors carnivale is better than sao paulo's one its more friendly and personable. More interaction between the people and its also in a bigger area with lots of places such as a place where you can watch it for free. Or a more secluded part where you get given a pass and you can interact with the samba queens and floats.

For me the main difference in salvador is that there are easily more black people there than white or other races. So when i was walking through some areas with my friends people would stare at my italian friend as he's very pale and would not pass for being Portuguese.

Also the crime rate there seems to be rising, i few days after arrival i was told of someone beiing robbed at gunpoint and shot in the leg. Now this can happen anywhere in brazil or south america but when ever we met new people or other residents in the apartment they kept on telling us to be very careful when traveling around bahia.

Thank you for your report. I haven’t experienced Salvador Carnaval yet but all reports suggest it is very different and I’ll try one day. I’ve met some great people in Salvador but it’s not one of my favourite cities, except for the nearby beaches and one or two other things. I thought the streetwalkers parading themselves at the roadside looked a bit crazy!

I tend to find Brazil more lawless the further north I go. In some places it’s not a problem as one just learns what one can and can’t do. It seems Carnaval fortunately has not been plagued by any terrible incidents so far this year. Enjoy tonight’s last night of competition if you are in Rio Sambodrome or watching on TV.

I'm back in the uk i got back yesterday morning, i agree totally about further up north being lawless, I wanted to visit the state of pernumbuca but my dad told me to avoid that state if i knew what was good for me due to murders but also the kidnappings that are happening there now.

Also I never got round to traveling to recife either, as their carnival started at a later date 12th of this month, while salvador's started on the 8th until late the 13th

Nice to hear of travels from my native land . Being further North of S.d.B  i have observed both from a far and on visits there but never as a resident . The learning curve for how to interact with Bahiana's is pretty steep also differs depending on your wealth and ethnicity . Being a dark mahogany i had no free pass there except i was not in danger of being robbed although that could depend on where you were and the circumstances . For Gringos its completely different rules and the prettiest mulata will drop her knickers for you  if she thinks there is a pay day at the end of it ( trip to Euroland ). For us it was about physicality , dance and coolness . Surprised you have not commented on the stunning physicality of the Bahiana as well as how pretty they can be ! I can still remember seeing Goddesses in Bikinis at midnight walking home without a care in the world or a penny in their purse   :D .

Did you notice in O Globo that the Rio VM locals had a 'bloco' to honour the prossies?

It was a different experience ive always remembered as a kid my dad saying that's where he wished he had moved to earlier on in his life. When it came to interacting with the locals they seemed really friendly only issue is they kept on saying i speak proper Portuguese( EUROPEAN)  style which made my friend laugh who is white portuguese.

The women were sexy totally different to Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre. I have to say the architecture is beautiful and the history is very rich, what shocked me was that certain areas were gated off and had their own armed security guards. Something that i have yet to encounter in centro Sao Paulo.

This summer im planning on visiting Paraguay to check out the talent other there.

That part made me lol       so true.

It sounds like you had fun. Question, do you think that most Brazilian women are covet WGs or is this a global thing? With all the apps around these days it's so easy to sell one's self for a quick buck.

Second question is punting with fellow country women better or worse than punting Brazilians here?

I would not say that all Brazilian women covert wgs, but culturally south american women will not give it up easy. Like for example in the uk you can go to a winebar and take a woman home with relative ease, while in brazil you would have to buy a few drinks or treat her to dinner or she would try to get you to buy her a present in some shape or form.

When i punt with brazilians here the first thing i always hear is how did i come to be over here and when i explain that my mother is black british of west indian descent and my father is black brazilian.

They tend to treat me different for some reason a lot more nicer once they learn im from brazil, when they are in the uk as in soutb london some of these brothels have been robbed by black men in their twenty upwards. So they used to assume im either Nigerian or Jamaican.

As for working girls in brazil they assume im rich or have access to more money than other locals this is down to how i dress and how i speak as many people not including working girls have said i speak Portuguese like a white european, which is  the proper way to speak no slang at all in any phrases.

Another good thing about punting for me in the uk is i can pretend i dnt understand and hear what the prossie and maid are talking about if they are speaking Portuguese or Spanish which i understand more than i can speak. So if they happen to be slagging me off or if she's complaining that her pussy is sore or she's tired i can understand.

But like i say to friends that always talk about the perfect latina wife that they want, south american women are probably the most conniving bitches in the world.

Once you're in your late twenties it's the power of your wallet not your bicep  :D As in the USA take me on three dates and i might give you a blow job . In London get me blind drunk or give me drugs and it's a blow job within 3 hours .The Gringos are paying far more for sex than Latinos , its just an indirect exchange  . A Brasilian WG will charge for a service in a time frame . The Gringo women have just not determined how quickly or cheaply they will give it up for  :wackogirl:

I recommend this place, it’s the best I found in Salvador, structured around a pool and and has the vibe  of a lounge bar, expensive, but all the best looking SP’s are found there and they are plentiful, even on a week night. The SP’s come and talk to you and there’s even the waiter doubling up as a fixer who asks what look you are after. Don’t expect any English speakers. Unless you get muggled by a taxi, then entrance is free. Fixed prices are the rooms. The SP you negotiate with separately. Initially I paid 600 reals but with experience I brought the price down. The best price I got was 300 Reals for 1 hour although that was with a regular. I also got a number and arranged a day time visit privately and separately from the club with a 10 for a couple of hours at my hotel for 500.

They can keep that price, and i know that place will be e xpensive just from seeing the Johnny walker red and blue lables in the pictures.  but thanks for this info

Be prepared to get disappointed in paraguay. I had the opportunity to spend a whole year working there. It is very hard to blend in, as one would never be able to achieve their peculiar looks, and as for the language, damm, they speak a very rare form of creole Spanish, mixed with guarani( the local Indian language) very hard to communicate.
Top that up with the fact that there are only two main cities: the capital ascuncion and ciudad del este. The first is very expensive AND dangerous at night, and the former is very dangerous at any time.  They have a kin eye to make a quick buck thought, and I found that some hotel receptionists or the security guy will help you out. Either by giving you directions or better still, pointing you out to the correct website and even arranging out calls ( to your very hotel room). Discretion is the way to go.
But they are expecting you to pop the question.

Thanks for this feedback, but i have friends that have been been and they had a good time there obviously they were not there as long as you were, but you have to understand that they would treat both of us totally different. As they would see you as a gringo, where as i would still be a outsider but i would be able to speak Spanish in a similar way like a native.

I don't know your skin tone or what you look like but the Afro-Paraguayan population accounts for 2% of their population and therefore it makes you more alien than any other tourist there, and would be open to more racial bias.

I had a very dark skinned friend (an amateur boxer) that went to Medellin Colombia for an eye operation and they tried to set him there with drugs. He had to go through the British Embassy to get out of the country. My point is the third world treats black people with more bias than the West so be careful there.

This is non scientific but their football team looks very non diverse

It doesn't matter about all of that, i speak average spanish and fluent portuguese , im black dark skin tone like wesley snipes. Ive been to Colombia and never had any issues at all with race, from what i know from people and family the countries i would avoid  being a black south american would only be argentina and some places in chile, but mostly Argentina they are well known for being racist cunts.

Paraguay ive had black and white friends visit there and ive not heard any bad stories about racism over there at all. I also find its how you carry yourself over there and behave.

Hate to call "gross generalisations " but this is completely contrary to my experiences . Chile , Argentina and Paraguay have small populations with Afro ancestory so for sure there are going to  be issues but these are seldom because of your skin colour - more to do with general xenophobia , exploitation of the poor and the distrust of foreigners ! Paraguays unique history and relationship with the other S.A. countries has shaped this  but not generally the way  in the northern countries of S.A. My own Bahiano friends who lived in Argentina never had issues because of their race . Their issues were because they would not say Maradona was better than Pele  :scare: Your friend's story sounds as if it was nothing to do with his skin colour but because he was a convenient foreign target in the wrong place at the wrong time and boxers are not known for their intellect and many seem to have levels of arrogance and conceit way beyond their knowledge or abilty in life e.g the Eubank Family.  The physically fit and sporting always attract negative attention from jealous boyfriends ! Maybe he did not show the right respect in a Machismo culture and got set up for this reason . Alternatively he did a Chris Lewis External Link/Members Only .

Medellin changed dramatically when they got rid of the biggest drug lord probably in the world. Kids were being shot just for crossing to the wrong side of the road. They also installed outside elevators and lots of other things (there's many academic papers on this or a big exhibition in the Botero Square museum downtown  You can also visit that suburb now (I have) and it's quite peaceful. I only mention it not to say Medellin is crime free, it still has plenty of crime, but it was such a massive leap forward that the horrors of a few years ago are largely history.

Speaking to someone from the area, they said it was impossible to get a job once they knew where you lived. Now the place is respectable enough to be a tourist attraction. They've done very well in that regard in my opinion.

All of South America is to an extent a problem for drugs. It's historically the root of Rio's gangland wars in the favelas and poor districts (Colombian drugs are traded for American guns). There are more eyes on Colombia. I'm so sorry that your friend was stitched up MoS. I'm not sure if it would have been for his skin colour or merely looking (to them) like a useful mark.  South America (like the U.S.) is however, in my opinion, very skin colour -aware. Even though Brazil has enacted groundbreaking laws on equality (and also huge strides on sexual equality) there remains much inequality. Skin colour is a psychological determinant, especially outside of the big cities. There's probably many causes but Brazil is such a large, crazy (and wonderful) country it is hard to generalise. Other S.A. countries are smaller and you take what you get. Argentina is ok you stay in the better parts of B.A. The other countries are in many ways underdeveloped in my experience but then you have places like Medellin that is psychologically streets ahead of many countries (which is one of the hoops for foreigners, just as Brasilian hookers are far more sophisticated at sucking in punters than anywhere else in the world - there again, they're also (mostly) better at their job!)

As far as Salvador is concerned though, popular as it is, not my fave city by a long chalk. I think punting used to be brilliant there, and nearby beaches are cleaner than Rio, but it has its own identity, much overhyped.

Enjoy the adventure!

mostly Argentina they are well known for being racist cunts.

Or just cunts. But they do dance tango . . .
I also find its how you carry yourself over there and behave.

Spot on. But isn't that true in most parts of the world? In Edinburgh I get more respect if I'm wearing a shirt and tie or a suit, and when I use a posh accent that works. But if I were a black man I think I'd probably make a point of dressing decently all, or most of the time. I don't want anyone to look down on me, and if they are so fucking fucked to judge by skin colour and dress and the way I walk then I'll challenge it. Not fair perhaps, but reality.

I also find (at least here) black men are respected on the basis of how they speak, dress and carry themselves. There's more discrimination probably against white hunched-up hoodies. What self-respecting person walks around with their face half-hidden, slouching along, and jabbering in slang like they're looking for a drugs fix? Or shady looking EEs. If an EE carries himself well, he's accepted. It's the ones that avoid eye-contact, talk in loud voices across everyone else, and dress like they've come off the barge that people are wary of.

I had a quick look (Hopper, Momondo) and got it down to £527 (departing late Aug for just under 3weeks) but that’s with United and a 6 to 7 layover in Houston. I generally pay more as I tend to avoid USA and US airlines if I can. Good luck. Enjoy.  (p.s. sidetrips between Colombia-Brazil seemed overpriced last time I went)

Yeah im not gonna visit brazil, the prices are way to high to travel from Colombia and back
