Hello
I have recently started a relationship, and am reluctant to delete my collection of pics of past conquests.
however I have no idea where would be the best place to store them.
Give that my laptop seems to save links to everything I have viewed in the past, and save to the most regularly opened folder etc!
There will be a day when I am caught out.

Anyone know the best solution to this problem?

Burn them to a DVD or a portable hard drive.

Mark them WANK BANK

Excellent idea. But possibly label it something a little less, erm 'compromising', if your relationship develops, OP!

I would upload all your images to the cloud, to something like drop-box, google photos or MS one drive etc - you can create a new account just for your images.

Download something like CCleaner free, you can set it to remove all you history, browser history and "recently used" links from windows.

I wouldn't store any data like that in the Cloud without encrypting it first.

Why would you need to encrypt it? I guess you may have to pay attention to copyright on some of the images but what do you need to hide?

For a similar reason I bought a set of three 'Cruzer-Blade' memory sticks by San-Disk for a modest sum . They offer a secure vault option accessible via password.

Download VeraCrypt for free, create an encrypted folder and set a password. The folder will only show up when you mount it (which will require inputting the password). Ensure the "folder file" is backed up and you will never forget the password, as there is no way to recover it! You can even keep this on a thumb drive, but I would prefer the cloud.

Perhaps you should be a bit more confident about your new relationship and just delete everything?  :D

Alternatively use any of the password protected solutions given. Unless your new OH works at GCHQ in which case take a drill to your hard drive  :D

You're a man. You have a past. You masturbate. You watch porn. She does know all this y'know. I'd suggest as long as you keep all this stuff discreetly in the background she won't give a toss. Keep your photos in a remote corner of your PC and don't worry about it.
One thing, to avoid them popping up in slide shows, automatic screensavers or sharing to other programmes I would suggest not keeping them in the generic/default Photos or Pictures folder......... Mine are buried deep in My Document under a few dreary sounding legitimate folders called bills, letter, guarantees etc etc.
Now maybe someone could do a deep dive into my PC and find them? Well, if they're prepared to do that they are already deeply suspicious of me and our relationship would be fucked by this stage anyway.

Don`t forget that USB memory sticks have a finite life and do occasionaly go haywire, Best long term option for backup I would have thought is onto a DVD or Blu-Ray disc.

I have an app on my phone called hide something. All my pic collection is safely hidden from anyone else who may use my phone.

You can use it to make anything you don't want someone else to see accessible by pin only.

This would work well, or create a Google account in a fake name, then store your pics in either Google Drive or Google Photos. Use an incognito tab in your browser when accessing the Google account.

Yup.
Stay single  :hi:

Or have a wife who is technologically challenged  :unknown:

OP, definitely just hide behind any password/PIN app on a tablet or phone that also has a password/PIN

Double PIN makes me relax somewhat

Open an account with mega.nz and don't forget the password, you won't get back in.

50GB is the limit for a free account :drinks:
There's an android app as well if you want to login to it.

ignore me wannabe has already posted this :dash: :dash:

I've used it for 4 years and have many photos and some videos of the prοssies that I have known. It's a nondescript app with more than just a password to open it. You actually have to press down for a couple of seconds on a particular part of the home page before the password input screen is revealed. It's great to reminisce late at night.

Can’t you password protect your folders?
