How do i go about finding a girl to join me?
Is the trope on tv of asking reception to help real?
Or do i just have to hope someone in the bar notices me?

I’d have thought that the internet will be your friend. Start by googling escorts in your destination and take it from there. There may also be some information in the overseas threads on here too.

Personally I’d NEVER approach a stranger in a hotel bar or ask the hotel reception/concierge. That could potentially cause you a whole heap of problems.

In the Czech Republic be careful with agencies since a lot of them will have 'understandings' with the hotels whereby the front desk will charge you extra if they see you bringing a girl up, and the girl won't come up by herself knowing that to be the case. Definitely don't deal with reception because they'll rip you off. The ones in the bars are also usually part of the racket. Best bet over there is to incall or find an independent WG who outcalls.

When I was last there (some time ago) the hotel had a resident prozzie, she could be found in the bar most of the time but occasionally went out front looking for business when it was slow

I was there in 2008. The taxi driver from the airport into Prague knew of a shit load of places. His advice was sound so that could be an approach you could make, you’ll need an excuse for a taxi ride though.
