I'm going to be generous and assume you are not actually asking what the difference is, rather what you should be searching for? As in which is male to female and which is female to male, is that correct?

But as you have not said which you are interested in, we can't answer that question. What I will say is on AW look at both categories as it is quite jumbled. I never look at birchplace so I'm not sure if it's more clearly defined there. Also would be worthlooking at the list of AW ts advertising as women if post op happens to be your thing.

Round here there are pre-op m2f in both.  It might be reflective of their mindset, but there is so little
consistency that I suspect not - more likely somewhat random.

That's what I understood your question was about.
Nothing to do with women transitioning to men.
It's something I've also noticed on AW.
Although they clearly advertise as trans female, they list their gender as male.
Maybe They're as confused as we are, but I don't suppose it matters much.

it's a very fair question, in terms of how transsexuals list themselves on AdultWork.
The answer is that there does not seem to be any logic, and you have to search both, and within both you will find a mix of everything, but mostly M-2-F

I was told some years ago that it's down to the ID supplied for verification. So, if they've legally changed gender they can use their new one, if not they're stuck with the old one. Simple as that.

I always thought it was a legal thing, they are all chicks with dicks... just legally transitioned or not.  The only observation i've made is that TS females have taken the more serious decision to change gender for good and are not the gay guys cashing in or just want to dress up for the weekend to shag straight guys.

I have not (yet) taken the TS plunge myself but one thing I have noticed is that pre-op trans women Thai TSs, who usually look very feminine, still list themselves (with few exceptions) as male on their AW profile. Biologically correct I guess.
