Read a biography of Mike Tyson written towards the end of his "proper" career. It pointed out his strengths & weaknesses as a boxer. Mostly it suggested that a tall guy with a good jab would stand a very good chance against him.
Proved correct more than once.
Greatest boxer ever, not even close. I'd rate him No 1 if I was looking for backup in a pub brawl.
Buster Douglas fought the fight of his life... Tyson was definitely out of sync that night, partying and shagging in Tokyo non stop.. well he paid the price for being unprepared..
Mike Tyson was very talented.. his bob weave style and bending at the knees, peek boo style was awesome, he was gifted with immense hand speed and power..
Mike Tyson had God gifted talented, but eroded quickly because he let himself down because of others around him..
Don King is not to blame, Mike Tyson is to blame himself.. he should of been his own professional man.. he was a very intellectual student of boxing...
Had he been the Mike Tyson that destroyed Tyrell Biggs, beat Tony Tucker, had not had drastic eroding skills because of all his personal issues and fought Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield in there primes, i have no doubt he would of beaten them and the likes of David Tua, Roddick Bowe, Tommy Morrison, Ray Mercer, Micheal Moorer, he definitely would of been there with Ali as the greatest of all time.. But the former certainly did not happen....
