I am working hard to arrange a trip to Caracas and have read the previous thread so have a good idea of available talent. Has anyone returned recently? Any updates on paying for hotels in local currency and availability of the larger notes?

It's definitely worth the rewards . For sure there is risk  but if you act like you are from the " street " and have plans B & C ready if danger comes your way then for sure the experiences that you will gain will be unique and memorable

I have tons of leads sourced from Twitter and more than enough to keep me busy for 2 weeks 

Appreciate the current state of the country and the dangers that brings but I plan to hole up in a nice hotel connected to a mall to keep me occupied during punts. No plans to walk around much during the day or night.
