After a negotiation, we failed to reach a desired “deposit” amount, as she wanted 50% upfront.

The desired deposit amount is £0 as far as I'm concerned. Asking for 50% is scandalous, and certain cause for concern.

I would only consider a deposit for an outcall, otherwise it's the blacklist and then move on to someone better.

It’s coming in because of the amount of time-wasters and the amount of crime. . I don’t think enough people realise how dangerous this job can be at times. Once you have had a bad experience of someone attacking you or trying to grab the money off the side you become more cautious when dealing with new clients.

Perhaps with hotels also taking track and trace details more girls are working from home and don’t want to give out their address to anyone dodgy.

I make it very clear it’s only for the initial meeting so I can feel safe. I’ve never cancelled on a client if I cancelled on them for illness I would pay it back.

A deposit would be a deterrent to anyone planning a robbery because you could give the details to the police.

Her profile looks nothing like a prostitute profile. It looks more like images taken from someone's social media.

There are escorts I'd consider paying a deposit too but they're all very established and I'm one of many that have shagged them before. A profile with 0 feedback or history can go fuck herself with a dildo, then upload the explicit picture as a free to view AW profile picture, then I might think she's a genuine prostitute, but still. Wouldn't book her.

I’ve paid a deposit for an outcall before and definitely understand the want to do that! Understand that there are time wasters out in the world, some WG may ever count me as one... but only because they do not put enough info on their page! I wouldn’t ask questions if it was all wrote down
