Still prescription only as far as I'm aware. Viagra is now available off script at most chemist's, including chemist's at superstores

yeah its been off patent since November 2017, and available in cheaper generic form "tadalafil".

I dont have any affiliation with them, but have always found the prices to be good from "Doctor Fox" . Other people on the forum also recommend them from memory.

link to their tadalafil generic page....

as with all legit online pharmacies you will have to complete a fairly brief medical questionnaire in order for them to do you an "online prescription"

They are 'off patent', but not off prescription yet  :hi:

Says on the box “last 36 hours “?

My post wasn't aimed at "correcting" you, as you are technically correct. It is indeed still a prescription drug. In fact I was replying to the OP who asked if the patent had expired ;-)

It seems to me though that some prescription drugs are so easy to obtain online legally these days by just giving the "correct" answers to a few questions, they might as well be off prescription!

thats probably a reference to how long the drug remains in your blood, to a level where its still having an effect. Pretty sure it has the longest "half life" of any ED drug... hence it acquired the nickname of "the weekend" pill... as you might reasonably expect to still feel its effects over that time period... whereas Viagra has a much shorter time period of effect....

Cialis / Viagra does the same job only difference is Cialis last for a day or two whereas viagra last about 4 hours.

Buy sildenafil its the generic version of Viagra for a fraction of the price.
Banned reason: Blatant tout causing raised prices and misery to punters dirty fucker!

Viagra is not a drug, it's the brand name used by the manufacturer, Pfizer, for sildenafi which is the drug.

Half life is 17 hours... although it's not called the 'weekender' for nothing. In most cases if you take it mid afternoon then you should still be benefitting from the effects the following evening.

I had some 20mg ones and could genuinely feel the difference for around 5 days. Stopped using them as the side effects on day one were quite harsh.

Offline timsussex

I had more side effects (flushes, headaches) with Viagra than with Cialis so it does vary

20mg is twice the normal prescribed dose for ED

Not for me, it isn't. [Not sure which emoji goes with a statement like that.]

The recommended dose for ED is between 5 and 20mg depending on the person.  For Pulmonary Hypertension the dose is 40mg per day.

Yes. I get them from a site and it's not prescription. I didn't realise the dose. Now I can break them into less than quarters and they are still usable

Typical 'normal' doses for Tadalafil (as prescribed by a GP for example) tend to be either 10mg or 20 mg on an 'as required' basis - 10mg to star then moving to 20mg if the desired effect is not achieved. For a daily dose it's usually 5mg, sometimes starting or dropping to 2.5mg.

I suspect it depends on the individuals metabolism.  My personal experience over a few years with them is that on some occassions the effects cal last even longer certainly over a weekend say.  I have wondered whether there is a psychological element too as in placebo effect.  No real side effects but on occassions I seem to have a slight head ache but nothing to worry about. This is on Ciallis, my prescription is being changed to a generic product I am informed.........

You may or may not notice a bit of a change in effect and potency in a generic product. Although the main active drug remains the same, the "carriers" within the tablet may or may not be different depending on the manufacturer of the generic pills.

I take several tablets a day for a heart condition and the first time I got ones from a different manufacturer I queried it with the pharmacist, he told me not to worry because any drugs sold in this country have to have the same effect, they wouldn't be licensed if they didn't.

Now I get them in various different shapes, sizes and colours depending on who makes them, quite often they come from Poland. Bearing in mind this isn't for me to get a hard on, they keep me alive.

Buying from the internet from an unknown source by-passes all these safeguards, the 'carriers' in those could be anything.

Offline Frenchie

Won't go into how , but have now arranged to get proper Cialis tablets ....Will report back as to thier effects after the 18th .. Will be interesting to compare results with genuine Viagra ... which I have taken on the last two punts .

Mr D I’m not looking to start an argument, so I will just make this observation and just maybe you might like to double check your facts since this can be a very serious issue for some people.
Like you I take a life saving med and when it ran out of patent I was offered more than one generic (NHS) alternative. I suffered problems for over 12 monthes and ended up back on the brand name original.
FWIW both my gp and pharmacist said there’s is no guarantee generic drugs will work exactly the same - due to carriers in many cases,  I was actually allergic to one of the coatings.  Just telling it as it is in my experience.    As always YMMV

Me too, I can only go off what my pharmacist told me, fortunately I have not suffered any side effects. To be honest, with the tablets I take, I have no idea which is the original manufacturer and which is generic, it's not a thing I've felt the need to look up, all I know is they work. My prescriptions just state the name of the drug, not a brand name so the pharmacist dispenses the ones he happens to have in stock

On this type of thread my advice has always been if you are thinking of taking any form of medication consult a medical expert first.

I am in Santa Marta Colombia at the moment
You can buy 4 x 50g Viagra(pfizer)  over the counter  in a reputable chemist for £12
The price difference is obviously due to Brexit

It stays in your system for 36 and if active, although with dimishing returns.

Says on the box “last 36 hours “?

After taking one I usually wake up with an erection 36+ hours later. I just take them to give me a 2nd go so not like I can't get hard without, but waking up with a boner is something that hasn't happened for a number of years. Hard to say how effective it would be next day, I imagine most punters aren't going to have 2 punts in 2 days but it does let you take it a bit more in advance compared to viagra.

That's true, wristjob, but of course there's the little leaflet in the box which says - I paraphrase - "you'll need to have some sexual stimulation for best effect."

I took one before some sexual activity yesterday and woke up this morning fairly sure that if this old beggar had the general stamina - and the funds, of course! - most SPs worthy of their pay would be able to get me ready for another round. :)
