Somewhat unrelated to the topic, but an up to date (last night) account of Bangkok currently. I’ve been a few times since the country reopened after the scamdemic. First time was with the extortionate and completely unnecessary Thai Pass and several visits since. Each visit has seen the city more busy than each previous occasion. When the Thai Pass was being used, it was the quietest I’d ever seen Bangkok. Last night was the first time I’ve seen it as busy and I’d dare say maybe even busier than pre-2020. It’s absolutely heaving! The bars, GoGo’s, clubs and the city in general is packed out.

First time I have been to Thailand but I found the bars very busy, especially Pattaya. On a late afternoon all the beach front bars were packed.

Galleria are meant to ask you for the girl to leave ID at reception, but when I went it the reception desk was busy with Chinese tourists who had just arrived, so we were ignored and went straight up to the room. Get yourself over you will love it, there are loads of massage places legit or extras included. I never tried a massage but will visit one next time. I hope to be there end of year as well. Just come back from a 16 day stay at Bangkok and Pattaya. 3 days Bangkok 10 days Pattaya and finish with 3 days in Bangkok. Instead of taking taxis I decided to try other methods of transport. I am sure many people have already done this but thought I would report anyway. From airport basement I caught the train to Phaya Thai and then the BTS to Nana where my hotel is next to and cost about 80 baht. It all went well but you have to make sure you travel on line 1 which is the south line to Kheha. This took about an hour to get to hotel. On my way to Pattaya I took the BTS to Ekkamai walked 5 minute  to bus terminal and caught the mini bus to Pattaya which dropped me off at Beach Road about 10 minute walk to hotel which cost 215 baht altogether. Travelling back to Bangkok I took the baht bus to terminal 21 and then a bike to the northern bus terminal and then a bus to Ekkamai and BTS to Nana. Total cost 210 baht and took me 3 hours from hotel to hotel. Leaving to airport I took the BTS from Nana to Phaya Thai and the train to airport about an hour. You have to make sure you are on line 2 which is the northern line to Khu Khot. I know it is a bit of messing around but I wanted to try something different and know it is achievable. It also cuts down the time waiting for taxi and also traffic jams.
