Thanks DM.

Sadly we see daily reminders of our presuming common sense and there have been a few reviews dropped with no valid link.  Good ol' Goldfinch sometimes tracks them down when he's playing good parent.
Common sense is lacking all too often unfortunately, even without reading the guide to review writing, the instructions on post new review page are very clear yet all too often totally ignored.

sadly also many are unable to leave a location or a name in the review title as requested on the review page and instead fill it with "editorial" best left to the actual review

Another problem with Advanced Search.

Just tried searching a few different establishments by unique names and their relevant entries in the Parlour thread aren't appearing in the search results as expected.
examples "Leman", "Skyline", "Golden Finger", "Chen Health"

It seems to be related to the choice of Region in the search.  So the Massage "board" is only included if "All site" is chosen but not if "London" or "All UK regions" is "logically" selected.

Could Admin get the techies to look at the search queries to see where the logic is failing please?

If I add another word that makes the target a single post it seems to be ok but not always e.g. "Leman Juli" or "Skyline vicky" but even that seems to reveal that possible hits in posts from the last couple of weeks may not be returned so the indexing of the thread isn't daily/weekly but something longer.

Tried using all 3 sort by options and the results may change but aren't always consistent with the sort by choice.

Happy to help with more testing to nail this problem, otherwise research won't be reliable.

I also just got blocked from sending a reply PM because I was responding to a 3rd person within 12 hrs but only my 2nd initiated contact in that 12 hrs so something seems off on the way it's counting PMs.  4 messages in total across 3 persons is hardly SPAM.   :unknown:

When I raise a new post or review it isn't highlighted a ‘new’ also when I reply to a new highlighted post it turns the ‘new’ off

They're not 'new' for you as you posted them.

also when I reply to a new highlighted post it turns the ‘new’ off

As it should because it's no longer 'new' to you.

Feels to me like the standard search has become pretty unreliable. The advanced search doesn't seem a huge amount better.

Just tried both methods to search for this AW number recently posted onto the London TOFTT thread (6303837). The profile is more than 6 months old, so I'm checking if it has already been mentioned anywhere else.

The search function doesn't even bring up the one result from the TOFTT thread that I know for sure exists! How can any of us have any confidence that searches aren't missing results from other threads? (especially the ones that verify the profiles should be avoided, e.g.  the scams thread, the BB thread, the hidden post-ops thread.)

You've quoted a post from a few minutes ago. Posts aren't searchable immediately, I think they become searchable after the forum's overnight maintenance downtime.

The quoted post was from 2am this morning, not 2pm. So over 12 hrs ago. But I get your point.

I thought the maintenance down time happens around 3am (I've sometimes been up reading at that time and the site becomes briefly unavailable). Just checked by doing a few searches on recent posts. Anything posted "today" doesn't get captured by the search. Looks like stuff that was posted "yesterday" does get captured.

So either there's some sort of searchable archiving that occurs at midnight. Or the search parameters can only pick up postings that occurred before todays date.

Sorry, misread the timing. I was having an educated guess as to when a post becomes searchable but, whatever it is, posts aren't searchable straight away and something happens to make them so.

I'm in the UK just now but there is an issue when abroad (I am abroad a lot).  Some days it is fine but two thirds of the time there is this error.

When abroad you can see the site only when not logged in, when you log in you get the "blah blah your Ip address is blocked due to abuse from trolls".  Strange that it lets you veiw the site logged out, but when you want to contribute you need to log in and it is blocked.  This has been the case for about 18 months

I was at a Hilton hotel yesterday and wasn't able to contribute until I tethered with my cellphone. I got the "abuse from trolls" thing so the IP range of the hotel must be excluded. It's mildly inconvenient, but I understand why it must be done.

Most hotels  have adult material  blockers on their WiFi. Cynically  it's because,  if you must watch porn, they want you to it on their ppv TV.

Hi sorry if this has been discussed before but is there a possibility that there could be indexing of agency girls not in AW or other independents not on AW. Not sure how difficult that would be.

It's been looked into before and it isn't feasible, not least because they don't have a unique ID number like they do on AW.

Some of the agency sites use girl IDs, if our index was not specifically numeric then we could accommodate <Agencyshortname>+<girlID>
e.g. Olina144, Barracuda321, Diva056 etc.
We could also include any listing sites that have persistent ads.  Increasing coverage across the fragmenting market would be useful.

The problem is that most of the ads aren't persistent. Few VS profiles last more than 30 days

OldAdmin looked into it years ago and it wasn't feasible so if he couldn't do it I would say it can't be done.

I realise there is resistance to changing usernames but when I setup I did not use the smartest alias!!!!

I tried to name change option in settings but there was no response.  is there a way to ask for a name change that would be okay. I realise I am holding back from reviewing as much as I could because name would be visible and could be linked.

How exactly could your name be linked, when I book an escort I dont use my real name, unless you have really boobed, and paul lamb is your real name

For instance real name John, but when I book to see escorts I will call myself James

Are you really saying that it has taken you 4 1/2 years to realise that your user name might be recognised, even though that didn't concern you when you posted two reviews in 2018.

When you joined in 2017 the site was run by OldAdmin but it now has a new owner, perhaps you should reread the rules so you are up to date with the changes that have been made. These changes do include that name changes are not allowed unless there is a very good reason.

6 Name change
No name changes allowed unless for a good reason. Mods decision is final.

Offline Paul.lamb.uk

Okay if it is going to cause that much upset for what I thought would be simple then don’t worry about it.

I was trying to respect the rules which is why I asked politely and acknowledged that this was not a glib change for changes sake.

Yes my name is real, yes my personal circumstances have changed since I joined as was single then, yes I am f’ing stupid and regret not being more careful back then.  Yes I can start using a different first name when booking people.

I have got a lot out of this site, and just wanted to be more comfortable making more effort to give something back.

Disappointed at the responses, as I never intended to be disrespectful or unreasonable.

I'm not sure what response you were expecting, but I only asked why it had taken you 4 1/2 years to realise your name might be recognised. I then pointed out the site had a different owner when you joined and that it might pay you to reread the rules so you are up to date with them as they are now. Both aimed at being helpful.

However having looked at your post history, how often you have used the site and your reply here I could also point out that you could in fact be in breach of rules #1 & 27.

Multiple photos can be posted by selecting multiple image files (JPG's and GIFs perhaps better than pngs or other formats) from the file dialog that pops when you use the "Attach Images" option.

When I tried videos before they appeared to be blocked from upload so most everyone posts them to a third party upload site and then post a link, sendvid used to be ok but I think they've started to insist on registration.

What other file types are you trying?

Remember there are Forum Rules about what content can be posted.

Not sure if it is already reported by anyone, but I have following suggestions about the 'Search' funtion:

- The current search doesn't include results from forum "UKPunting »Discussions & Reviews »Massage Reviews". It only returns results from Regional Discussion and Escort Reviews

- Can we optimise the search function to be able to search within a particular discussion thread? e.g If I could search for something within "https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=259378.0"

The site isn't blocked by the hotels, the site is blocking access from there.  A key difference.  Back in the UK now but I can't remember all the details of the punts while I was travelling so it's lost

They do alter the font size, no idea why, it just makes it more difficult to read. I altered one post and returned it to normal when it had been posted in not only small font size but in all bold as well.

If they think it makes them look clever, it doesn't.

Are you browsing using an android phone? Try switching to another browser. There does seem to be a long-running glitch in the forum software which makes some browsers use the wrong font on some posts on some phones. Bloody inconsistently vague.
I find  Opera and Firefox are less of a problem than Chrome, but the only browser that  never does it is the experimental Chrome Canary.
But others experience may well differ
