In 1979 I first started punting using the Phoenix Contact mag and the Coventry Free papers...and generally was successful with every Punt....the same happened as does now..see an add,the photo rarely showed her face ,but gave a telephone No and off we went and came back with wobbly legs and a silly smile. Then came the Internet and subsequently sites like Adultwork, which were pretty good in the beginning ...and sites like Viva street and Gumtree took over the role of Free papers...and as such, because of peoples ability to scam us using the internet...many UK girls have left the trade and or don't come into it. The main scams in those days was just the girl leaving the room for what seemed ages...but now it's that..Bait and Switch...total indifference..etc...and feigning "no speak English" . I miss those days of 'Little Penny' of the Hagley Road...'Amber' by the Blues ground etc...Bring back HONESTY..BRING BACK THE PHOENIX MAG.

Absolutely agree! I started punting when I was a student at the University of Birmingham in the late 70's through to the 80's. There were several 'newsagents', in Hurst Street or adult bookshops that stocked direct contact magazines, like Phoenix, Questa, Rendezvous etc. A blurred, black and white photograph and a land-line phone number! I used to get 'turned-on' by anticipation, as the phone rang and the 'lady' picked up the phone and you had a brief chat on your 'interests and needs', before booking an appointment. I had some terrific 'punts' with 'Local' ladies, and met the delightful Madame Paula in Edgbaston via Phoenix. Punts in Handsworth Wood, Moseley, Selly Oak etc. Genuine ladies working from their own homes or apartments. But, also the massage parlours had local women, it would seem to be racist now, but the whole internet scene is populated by Eastern European women, usually controlled by pimps via human trafficking. I always got the impression that although it was a way of earning money, the women that I met through contact magazines also actually enjoyed their work!

I used to use phoenix also. Was a great mag  used to buy it and just look at the pics with phone numbers. Also met a few swingers out of it where the husband didn't mind you fucking his wife while he watched. Had a particular one in Tipton. Told all my mates about it and still to this day 25 years later, when it's bought up we laugh about what happened. I Had this woman from behind was particularly fit in those days and could get in all kinds of positions. This bloke came up behind me and lay on floor watching me from behind. All I remember him saying was that's a great position never seen that b4 and your cup of tea is on the fireplace, I said cheers mate no milk no sugar and carried on smashing her back doors in. Those were the days

If you want to go back to punting down Small Heath way then feel free, it's necessary trips only for me round that way these days.

It was all in the days before mobile phones and some would have you running round from phone box to phone box before they gave you the address. The nearest ones to thier houses  must have told the locals something with a constant stream of furtive men calling them going off in the same direction. Happy days though (mostly). On the whole l recon l had no more bad experiences than now when sometimes you spend hours pondering over online profiles and reviews.

I used to use the daily sport personal section and phone from a phone box had no idea what they would look like just a number and their statistics.

Great memories of using Phoenix Magazine. On the main page, rhere are numerous threads dedicated to to Phoenix/Rendezvous Magazines, as these were THE main way to contact WGs, esp those who had posted their photos as well.

Oh yes

Phoenix, Oasis, Questa, Rendezvou etal -

Julie/Lisa who operated out of Moseley, and WestField road off the Hagey road was a particular favourite before she saw a few selected ones at her home in Dosthill near Tamworth would love to know what happened to her

Her friend Linda from Wellington was always nice loved her sadly I know she stopped seeing people

Forgot the name but a beautiful one  a stunner in Holmes chapel

There was another beautiful lady  who I saw in Malmesbury Road off the Coventry Road... Love to know where she went

then there was the girl who did a lot of videos and she operated out of Church End in between Coleshill and Nuneaton

which I was could find a time machine and travel back to these fabulous days....

I was a regular of one in Malmesbury road who I met through Phoenix. She must have been about 50 back then in 1985. She had blonde curly  hair. Always had sex in the living room.

Happy days.

think there were two or three in Malmesbury Road - the one I saw was very slim (with Blonde Curly Hair) but always took you up her very narrow stairs to a bedroom but she would have been late 30's back then around 1985 she must be around 60ish now

Offline r1965h

Probably the same one. I was only 19 at the time so everyone seemed old!

She had great tits and always wore stockings and suspenders.

Offline r1965h

I can still remember the house number

That has brought some great memories to me. I used to always buy Phoenix and had to hide it from the wife. Always had a few wanks going through them

Here's one that's still going from Phoenix days. She was probably my first and longest lived regular back in the day. Always reliable and provided a good, if vanilla by these days standards, service.

Are they not still available? Bought one about a year ago.It was crap.In the good old days there were 250+ ladies advertising all with phone numbers. The last one I bought,by the time you disregarded the Doms/TV's etc there was about 60-ish.

Was that Kathy(aka Kirsty/Sam) who advertised 'Poses for stills and videos only...no other services offered"?
Put me off seeing her for years then one day I called her and found she did OWO and swallowed!!!
All those wasted opportunities.Saw her loads of times .Sad she retired around 2005..

The publishers take numbers off AW, Vivastreet, etc and pad up the magazine, so no real new entries in there.

Nice thread, memories abound. Phoenix did send you on a runaround, I didn't drive back then, as a student, so yes...sometimes I'd already jacked off just in the anticipation of phoning the number and listening to the ladies voice! Victorian Terrace Houses, Apartments, Maisonettes. Recall a mature lady who had an old 8mm projector and a collection of Danish Porn films, she'd project them whilst stripping. Nice flat in Moseley, probably my first punt. Tower Blocks in Highgate, Chelmsley Wood, Castle Vale. Dominatrixes in Edgbaston, Housewives in Washwood Heath. Heaven!
