Absolutely agree! I started punting when I was a student at the University of Birmingham in the late 70's through to the 80's. There were several 'newsagents', in Hurst Street or adult bookshops that stocked direct contact magazines, like Phoenix, Questa, Rendezvous etc. A blurred, black and white photograph and a land-line phone number! I used to get 'turned-on' by anticipation, as the phone rang and the 'lady' picked up the phone and you had a brief chat on your 'interests and needs', before booking an appointment. I had some terrific 'punts' with 'Local' ladies, and met the delightful Madame Paula in Edgbaston via Phoenix. Punts in Handsworth Wood, Moseley, Selly Oak etc. Genuine ladies working from their own homes or apartments. But, also the massage parlours had local women, it would seem to be racist now, but the whole internet scene is populated by Eastern European women, usually controlled by pimps via human trafficking. I always got the impression that although it was a way of earning money, the women that I met through contact magazines also actually enjoyed their work!
