Author Topic: My AW profile says I have aliases with negative feedback  (Read 877 times)

It has come to my attention that service providers see the following
Quote

This member has aliases. If red then an alias has negative feedback

against my name, and may explain why I don't get responses to some messages.

I have never had any other profiles on AW, although I did once set up a profile for a girl who asked - anyone know how I can get this sorted?

Offline Vice Admiral

This arises when two or more different profiles are accessed from the same browser.

Unfortunately there is no solution to this (AW won't help), other than time.  The aliases will "drop out" after a certain period - but I'm afraid it's something like two or three months.

Offline southcoastpunter

I think its longer than just a couple of months - certainly a few years back it was. I did the same, helped one girl set up her profile and let another access her profile from my pc and then hey i had two aliases!

I put a comment on my profile explaining this and it never caused me any difficulty (although at the time i had about 20 positive feedbacks and no negatives). Like Vice Admiral, i think AW won't be any help to you at all.

Search on here, there ar eplenty of threads explaining:

How this arises.

How long it stays on AW under your profile.

How to get rid of it (not easy, as above poster says,
AW are useless at helping out). Use a new ID in a new browser whenre you have cleared all the cookies FIRST, then set up a new email address with adultwork, AND also a new contact number.

Offline Straightsix

With negative feedback on AdultWork a SP will only see the colour red; you will not be entertained, no questions asked. She will not even consider malicious retaliation feedback left by other SPs.
Here on UKP a negative rating is critiqued by 'paying for pussy' peers should its authenticity raise suspicion. A SP with a negative rated review here may still receive custom from members, its not the end of the world for them although their behaviour would sometimes suggest otherwise.
Maybe the SP whos profile you created has received negative feedback which is now associated with your profile? Or if you're like me with a record breaking negative feedback rating and created another profile to at least communicate with SPs and they have linked the two profiles?
The rating will indeed disappear with time but the profile with negative feedback must never 'sign in'.

Does this only become a problem if the SP gets negative feedback?

The number of aliases will still show, which may give some escorts pause for thought – but if there's no negative feedback on any of the "alias profiles" it will be a lesser problem.

Like Tom Tank and South Coast Punter, I had an alias problem a few years ago as the result of helping a girl with her profile on my computer, but in my case the number of aliases I picked up was absolutely staggering – something like 76, if I remember rightly.

This was the result of her account being accessed on one or two other computers / i-phones, thus picking up their aliases and the aliases of others who had accessed profiles on devices that had already been shared by others.  So there were numerous devices – and even more numerous profiles – that AW regarded as linked.

(I'm not sure I've explained that entirely cogently, but I hope the gist is clear!)

Yep, I got it, thankfully no negatives, yet. Never thought about it TBH, just got a profile closed that a pimp had control of twice, and helped set up a new one for one of them, the other got out of the game.

Will get mine checked though, not that I use it much these days.

Short of asking an SP what your profile looks like, is there any way of finding out yourself? This thread has been a revelation to me. I once helped a girl set up a profile (so she could offer phone sex and sell content, not escort) from my usual device... So am guessing my profile shows an alias too.

Online scutty brown

If you want to avoid AW aliases, don't log into AW using shared / public networks such as hotels/work/libraries/pubs.........

EVERY log on via that gateway IP address is assumed to be from the same person, irrespective of user or machine ID

The only way to find out if you have aliases is indeed to ask an escort what she sees beside your e-mails in her list.

The good news is that you're not stuck with the aliases for ever (provided you don't again sign into other profiles on the same device and / or browser).

The bad news is that they hang around for a while.  Earlier in this thread I suggested two or three months.   South Coast Punter thought that it was longer than "a couple of months", and he may be right.   I'd still go for no more than three or four months.

Thanks for such a clear answer.

From now on will only look at the site using my punting phone!
