I think you may be mixing fear with anticipation here. No, of course too much info isn't running the fun because we still have no way of knowing if that information is correct until we get there. 'Too much information' is increasing our chances of a successful punt.

+1 - 15 years ago or more when I was punting out of the newspapers it was a nightmare and I had more bad experiences than good.  AW and UKP combined has ensured I've had 95% + good punts.  No way a profile or even dozens of reviews can prepare you for the reality - and sheer excitement - of meeting a girl for the first time and fucking her pretty much straight away.

The information is out there to pretty much guarantee a good punt, that must be a good thing.

Of course it will never be 100%,some like to toftt which is still a gamble or are silly enough to do outcalls to their home with girls they don't know

Not ruining my fun although I am prepared to take a risk sometimes having a plan B option if plan A goes tits up. Pre-net it was of course a total lottery, which in my case was most of my punting career so far. Far better now and especially for me finding good regulars meaning i take more risks on newbies to me in search of a future regular, sometimes pays off, sometimes not.

It is now possible to punt with the odds in your favour of mainly good punts, nothing is guaranteed but risks can be vastly reduced by reading UKP.

If it weren't for the endless reviews on places like here and the relative ease of finding girls on Adultwork I probably wouldn't punt at all.

If we went back to the old days of cards in phoneboxes and ads in the paper it wouldn't be worth the effort for me. Because nine times out of ten I would be turning up to the punt to find the petite and busty young blonde I was promised is actually a woman twice my age with a body like a pair of tights stuffed full of cottage cheese. At least with reviews I know what I'm probably getting, so I can generally guarantee a positive experience.

Now I know of 10 places, and I'm no more than 30 mins from action from 10am in the morning to 4am at night.

Information is a good thing.

We spend too much each time to waste it on perhaps a 40% proportion of good punts.

Now you can be pretty sure of a good punt if you want or you can have a gamble on an unreviewed girl but still probably have a 75% chance.  There is still enough "risk" (in several ways) punting to put a thrill into the sport.

The information on AW/UKP also means you can try and match the type of punt with your mood on the day.

Also just spending time on UKP and AW is (for me) part of the hobby!

I get what you mean about the excitement of seeing the person for the first time, but this can just as often lead to disappointment.  For me the bigger turn on is seeing someone whose pictures I've been looking at in the flesh finally.  There's nothing more exciting in punting than having the door open and thinking 'yes, it's actually her'.

One of the reasons I like pornstars and webcam girls is knowing exactly what they look like, I can't imagine what punting was like in the 'good old days' I don't think I'd have been up for it back then.
