New-ish film being shown in London about some hard up Taiwanese girl getting a job in a rub and tug place.

Will leave you all to draw your own conclusions (looks about as realistic as Button Moon), will be saving my cash for the real thing.

That trailer is awful, someone should shoot the soundtrack producer.

2016 movie currently on limited "arthouse" release...  :dash:

Go see it at the Barbican, forget your dirty mac and wear your espadrilles, Brylcreem and hooped top.

Quote
Western fetishization of Asian women while keeping its focus on the characters’ internal worlds and how they support each other amid persistent violence. The Receptionist is an intimate portrait of women objectified and ignored by the outside world who choose to make family among themselves.

It would be harder to be more white-knight than that  :dash:

"The client is king, we must treat them like a god!" - favourite piece of dialogue from the trailer. As I said, as realistic as Button Moon.

well the other tagline is 'inspired by true events', so at least there's a bit of accuracy that you can get b2b in a massage parlor. I wonder how much research the producer/writers had to do - for the film of course.

I've first dibs on UKP the movie, like The Social Network.

Tagline for the cinema poster?

The harder they come by Jimmy Cliff as the soundtrack.

It will almost certainly be based on this documentary External Link/Members Only

Anyone see Irina Palm with Marianne Faithfull a few years ago? The plot centers on Marianne as the eponymous Irina, an unlikely sixty-something matron improbably giving handjobs through a Soho glory hole in order to save up money for an operation for her son/grandson/nephew (can't remember exactly which - delete as applicable). In the end she falls in love with Sergei who has taken a shine to her (as I recall) having road-tested her supposedly surprisingly silky skills in this department.

Just remembered my favorite line from the film - "He's dying. I'm wanking. It's a mess".

I’d rather it was the young Marianne Faithful staring in it rather than the drug and alcohol survivor that we see today. I like her and imagine that she’d have a few tales to tell but getting a hand job off her would be a massive boner killer for me.

How could I forget it. The dying kid was her grandson and naturally her son (Kevin Bishop) was disgusted at the turn of events.

It was quite a queue which formed to receive those silky hands.

Again, like this one, total (not empty) bollocks.

Pretty good film. There's a film called Prostitute from 1970 which is good as well. Slovenian Girl is good as well.

I've checked the trailer.

It seems to be low low budget but the ratings are surprisingly quite good.

Yep. It was made a decade later than I thought, it does seem more realistic than many I've seen.

One of the lines in that clip you linked to reads "A client is like a god, we should worship him"  :wackogirl:

I swear to god, half the people who write/research "based on a true story" shite like this should just head over to the Mills & Boon rape fantasy collection (a collection of my favourites here: External Link/Members Only), 'cos that's what they're really after. One thing's for certain, they sure as shit don't know anything about the sex industry.

Another (otherwise good film) is Hummingbird starring Jason Statham, which although centred on Chinatown/Soho thereabouts, does see the taxi firm opposite the Little Driver pub on Mile End Road double up as a sauna with a line-up, where a bad punter (who Chinese brothels have on a barred list) is able to peruse a selection of EE lovelies in full public view  :dash:

Though IRL the beer garden of that pub does offer quality leching views in this heat.

And who could forget the film 'Full Body Massage', starring the buxom Mimi Rogers and her massive pair unleashed a lot in it.

Truly a spectacular pair, probably at the peak of her powers.

Was interesting to be a young lad back then, TV had plenty of T&A soft porn a la Shannon Tweed on Channel 5.  Bravo on cable always showed 70s Confessions films on Friday nights, which was useful for getting inexperienced girlfriend in the mood when she stayed over at ours.  They even showed the full uncut 'Ups and Downs of a Handyman' which had cunnilingus scenes at the behest of Swedish audiences (or so I read).

I'd prefer her to Katie Holmes, to be honest.

How could I forget the RSD, where people have sex wearing bras.  There was one where he shagged the 'wrong' sister of a pair of twins too (come on, we've all done it).
