Totally agree, some programmes should never be remade or revived. Think New Avengers (an absolute travesty apart from Joanne Lumley of course). 
Not as bad as the remake of The Equalizer TV series now with a woman playing the part. She looks more like a school teacher ffs
The film versions with Denzil Washington are good but whatever possessed them to make a TV series with a woman playing the title role
The return of the Saint with Ian Ogilvy playing the part made famous by Roger Moore is also a travesty. Re makes are never as good as the originals.
