Author Topic: Question regarding hotels  (Read 2394 times)

Hi all.  Thinking of getting back into punting and I just wanted to know if anyone has booked a hotel recently in notts and if so, has there been any measures added In light of covid that might make this difficult?

Online GingerNuts

I don't see that you would have any difficulty booking a hotel room but don't expect to get a visit from a WG unless she goes with you as a registered guest.

I got intercepted at a Hotel meet yesterday 🤬

Problem was that the lobby was empty and there was 5 staff around with nothing to do, so they asked me if I was a guest. I said I was there to see a friend and they replied that guests were not allowed visitors and that we could only meet in the lobby 😑

Had to activate a Plan B, and the SP in question was suitably unimpressed with the hotel antics 😑

It was almost an 80min round trip wasted 😒

Thanks for the heads up.  Doesn’t sound too promising :(

Not surprised this is happening. I think it’s going to be a while before fucking prossies in hotel rooms gets back to normal

I think someone in the NW had a hotel punt scuppered recently because he or she was stopped on the way into the hotel. Can't remember which thread it was. I think it'll be a while before hotel punting gets going again.

My one and only hotel meet.... never again
Pre-covid I've never had a problem visiting prossies in a hotel, nor have they had any problems meeting me.  Just lucky maybe.

I can’t see that being that case now if restaurants are taking your details on the way in, no way will hotels let any one walk around

I just had a work meeting in a hotel in Leeds.  There was absolutely no way anyone was getting to the bedrooms except registered guests. The staff were stopping everyone and making them sign in and out of the building. Name, address and contact details had to match your I.D.  Don't I.D. yourself.... don't get in the front door was the way it worked.  From what others were saying, many hotels are doing something similar. You can't blame them. If they let their guard down and there was an outbreak, the press would crucify them at a time when they're struggling to keep the doors open anyway.

Fifth week back in Hotel, mid week (Tue/Weds/Thurs) occupancy at pre covid levels and no checking of people.
Two reasons I won't.... respect to staff ( stay here 40 plus weeks a year)  & a lot of people in same industry stay here ( last night bumped into someone in lobby worked with at BNS 25 years ago.
Suppose depends where you are.

I have stayed in 4 hotels over the last few weeks while visiting family and friends, no punting. Rooms are always booked for 2 people. At one chain hotel they asked for details of the second guest. Same hotel 2 weeks later they didn’t bother. I was in and out a lot over my stays and saw very few staff. Getting an escort in would probably have not been a problem. Hotel is carded so I am guessing no escorts would work from there.
At another hotel, that had it’s bar open, I was told that if I had guests they would need to leave details for Track And Trace, and I was limited to 2 guests depending on how busy they were.
I did notice they stopped anyone entering and asked if they were staying at the hotel. This hotel is not carded as it has a gym/spa and having used it before they don’t usually stop anyone.

Hi just had the following response from a hotel chain in Nottingham

Good morning,

On check in everyone that is staying in the room must register all their details.  This includes the following:
Name
Address
Telephone number
Email Address
Passport details (if overseas guest)
Car Registration
Signature

hope this helps

To be honest most of that was supplied anyway when booking pre-covid. The hotels I use regularly will have that info on their system. The only thing I normally have to add on arrival is the name of the second guest who is staying, usually the OH as I don’t do overnights.
I have never been questioned about a ‘visitor.’

I was in Brum about 2 years ago for a concert and noticed a sign saying visitors were allowed up to 11pm but only registeted guests after that time. Brought in due to people bunking their mates in after concerts at the nearby arena apparently.

The information is for all guests staying, so the WG would have to give her details too

Offline James

find a hotel where reception is seperate, there a few around, or lifts can be accessed without going past.
so far my punts have been appartments

There's quite a few WGs in Notts atm who are saying they are working from a "discrete hotel". The one time I've been to visit a SP in a hotel (pre lockdown), I was chased down by a member of staff who said I needed to sign in. It was so awkward and the hotel staff member must have had an idea of what was going on.

I don't get why more SPs aren't offering Outcalls or at the least incalls from a private residence. Hotels are way more suspicious/obvious than before.

How does this work generally? I’ve never used either before? Can you book somewhere for a day, or are they so cheap it doesn’t matter if you leave after a few hours? Is there a reception you need to get past once you have the room key? Thanks

Offline NervousJ

There’s a hotel close to j25 where I think 4 lasses were working from yesterday. So I’d guess that one is fairly safe. I’ve been a few times and it’s usually busy enough with concessions and gym to go fairly unnoticed....

Air bnb you can just look for somewhere that you get the whole place to yourself, pick up the keys (many are no contact pickup anyway.

Then just have the girl come to you, price varies a lot. If you look for the ones that look less homely typically the owner doesn't live in the area or use it so you have less chance of picking up keys in person.

I have only used for holiday breaks, but admit I have been looking recently. Bare in mind any damages or cleaning costs as it can make it expensive.

I have been pondering this same problem myself recently. Sounds like it’s pot luck as to how stringent a particular hotel or chain may be in enforcing any hygiene/contact tracing rules.

Could always book as a single guest and choose a room with a double bed, it seems to be the default setting from what I’ve seen. Not sure if many hotels still have single beds on their own to be honest. Still doesn’t guarantee that your guest won’t get stopped though.

Airbnb sounds like the best option at the moment, sure they will have their own rules but can’t imagine them having the same level of scrutiny as hotels.

It’s funny as I imagine the industry is well aware of some of the more illicit uses of their rooms and ordinarily wouldn’t care as long as people are discreet but suppose they have no choice here even if they lose out financially.

Is it possible to book an AirBnB for a day? If not, I guess just book for one night and book your WG for the evening. A bit weird to then clear off without staying the night.

Like others say, I'm sure AirBnB owners will be pretty wise to the uses of their accommodation. I'm just keen to keep a low profile. All new to me this, I've only ever met girls in their houses or hotels they've arranged.

Thanks

Sure that will be an option. I always clear off the same evening when I use hotels for punting  :D
Check in 5 or 6, grab a shower/get changed, appointment at 8 or 9, usually an hour or two tops, then just leave keycards in room and head off home!

Might be different for Airbnb if you have to drop keys off with concierge or similar but not really a big issue.

Just been to a hotel to meet a potential sugar baby. I went to bar straight away they stopped me asked what im doing. Said mseting some1 in bar. Fake details given and let in. Sugar baby had to do the same. She was ok with it.
No id checks so ok on that front.

Once in bar im sure in other hotels u could sneak up to room. Otherwise ppl gonna struggle. Outcall i both prob have to check in together or have the right names to give first.
Its a struggle id say

You need to book an apartment either via Booking or AirBnB, as hotels are too risky if you're bringing a guest.

The only "safe" alternative is to register the Outcall as an official guest, which means asking the SP for her real ID. Good luck with that....😐

Had a recent meet in a chain hotel, admittedly this one was in the south . Walked in anonymously wearing my mask and went straight past reception to the lifts. No questions asked.

I did check beforehand with the SP and she said there were no issues. Based on recent postcode checks my local one is filling back up with SPs.
