Looking for type of card that can be got from a shop with no ID
And that can be topped up the same - in cash
Will be cheaper than doing private gallery stuff by text
Don't need massive limits - just basic stuff only / small top ups etc
Would be a bonus if these come with a PIN number for withdrawals - but not essential
If any tips then much appreciated

How and where can I buy a Prime Card?

In shops: You can buy a Prime Card at thousands of high street stores across the UK displaying the PayPoint or epay sign. Simply ask the retailer for a Prime Card, stating the value you‘d like to load onto it between £10 and £300 plus a one-off card purchase fee of £5. The retailer will hand you a pack (containing the card and Terms and Conditions) and your receipt. Click here to find your nearest shop selling Prime Cards.

Do I need to register my details with you to buy or use a Prime Card?

No, you don't have to. However, it would be a good idea to register since this provides you with added protection if your card is lost or stolen. If you have registered, we can cancel your card and transfer your account balance onto a replacement card for a small fee. Also, if you register, you can make purchases over the telephone and on those websites that require you to enter a name and address to make an online purchase. You can register your details quickly and easily here.

And to find your nearedt store to buy it

Thx.  Do you know if you have to register an address to use on AW ?
Or is it just the card details that are necessary ?
Coz registering an address kind of defeats the object etc

With a prepaid card you can put any address you like.

Just thought I would mention, there is a pretty nice deal on a Pre-paid card on Hotukdeals today.

If you sign up for a 99p Pre-paid Mastercard through TopCashback, they actually give you £8.40 back, so this means you are actually earning £7.40 for signing up for a pre-paid card.

£7.40 for nothing is a good excuse to justify getting one vocally to an other half. And its a good deal too.

Prepaid cards are generally a waste of time.

You order the card and can pay the fee anonymously (eg at the Post Office in cash).

You can even order a card in a false name to any address you have access to.

So far, so good.

Until you read the small print. To get the spending and withdrawal limits lifted to anything workable, you need to provide a proof of address and proof of identity. That is to comply with KYC guidelines - 'Know Your Customer'.

So, that 'anonymous' prepaid Mastercard or VISA is nothing of the sort.

Cash is king in punting land chaps. Stick to that if you want real anonymity.

That is handy to know. But I always thought the anonymous part was just so your partner doesn't see your monthly CC bill.

I have never tried it but why not use a pre-paid card and say Mr and Mrs Smith room for the night. And then brazenly hand over your card with the name of Mr Anderson. The hotel will know what you are doing. Its almost like the left my wallet in the car idiom.

Plus also I always thought one of the problems with Credit Cards was they have your name printed on the front. A pre-paid card even when you have done the ID thing still wont have that. It wont also give your name on any cash machines too.

So the only people who will know is people you buy from if they wanted to investigate but they are hardly going to blurt that out to your partner as its data protection laws.

Maybe I am missing something.
I thought these cards were used to buy Adultwork credits ------------- £5 or £10 per transaction.   :unknown:

I get the feeling West8 was booking an outcall hotel room with it

Here are the limits on this card for not providing proof of your name and address

Quote
What are the limits on a Lower Limit Card?
Full details of the limits can be found in your Terms & Conditions. The main restrictions compared with a Full Limit Card are:

Maximum load in a year - £2,000
Maximum single load amount via Bank Transfer - £400
Maximum daily ATM withdrawal - £50
No load allowed via Debit Card
No Additional Cards

So in a nutshell £2,000 use per year. So you could get something like 3 x Prepaid cards from different providers if they are all the same and that is £6,000 per year. If you spend more than that on outcall hotels in a year punting then you are a way richer man than me.

Yep - card was declined as I'd hit the annual ceiling. So, back to cash from now on.

Waste of time.

If you want good legitimate excuses to have one I would say you could have it to

1. To link it to your Now TV account (they are pains in the backside them as you need a credit card attached to your account even if you use vouchers to watch with and if you forget to get a new voucher they immediately charge your card).

2. Link it to your Itunes Account so if someone steals your phone they cannot go crazy

3. Link it to your Google Play account for the same reason.

4. To chuck in your Xbox console so Microsoft don't autobill you each year for renewables (Xbox Live or EA Access).

5. To sign up for porn (better to admit this than you are booking WGs, and its a good tactic to do as you have admitted something bad so this will not let her think worse).

6. To link it to PayPal as if someone hacks your account.

Or pretend to get it for using it to pay any online sites (retail, electronic, etc) whom you don't trust for holding your normal credit card details in their records.

If its of any help I have just ordered it using my mobile phone monthly contract.

I put my phone number in, they sent an SMS message with a 4 digit code. I put that in and 30 seconds later it said paid.

I am thinking it may show up as a premium rate call which my monthly minutes will allow. If not then its £1 more onto my contact this month.

It said it will post it to me in 5-7 working days so you will need to put a real home address in, or maybe your works address possibly. Its not one you can go and pick up from a store.

Hopefully this is a useful thread to bump and keep up to date.

You can't use a paysafecard voucher for joining seeking arrangements so we were discussing the potential of using a pre-paid credit card.

If any one has any up to date gen on using these cards for this purpose, or any other general updates on pre-pay credit cards please share on this thread.

For Majority of Pre-Pay Credit cards, you need to register with them, in order for them to send the card to your home address. So registering in false name would defeat the object, and a false address will result in non-delivery.

Few Years ago, there were a few cards avaialble, where you could buy them for £10 from newsagentc, etc and then top them up and use them (up to a small limit, e.g. £100) without registering before you were forced to register.

If you could keep your punting credit card expenditure to within this amount, they were of great use. I know of a punting friend who used 4~5 of those without registering, as each time he kept the spending limit to within the threshold amount. The drawback was paying £10 ~ £15 each time for the card.

Google PAYG Credit Card andsee which ones still allow you to purchase the card from a shop. Alternatively, ask at any newsagent (Preferably out of your comfort zone) if they stock such cards.

I've copied and pasted above from a different thread.

Th other problem to watch out for....
If you've NOT registered an address for the card, then it can become impossible to make online payment, as quite often the checks requested include the 3-Digit CVC number, Post Code and Number from the House.

A while back I remember reading about a standard false address, including a postcode which you can use and is valid i.e. gets through address validation systems. Not sure where I saw this now though.
